Brockbank Elementary Holds Annual Dads and Doughnuts
Brockbank Elementary held their annual "Dads and Doughnuts" on October 23. The students, along with their dads, moms, grandparents, or other special family members were able to come and browse for books through the book fair and then enjoy doughnuts and milk. Brockbank students and faculty would like to thank the PTA for sponsoring this fun morning.
Brockbank Fifth-Graders Enjoy History Project
Brockbank fifth-grade students have been studying Native American Tribes in class. For a home project, the students made a pyramid that depicted the life and customs of a tribe of their choice. It was a fun and creative learning experience for the students.

Brockbank Elementary Celebrates National School Lunch Week!
Brockbank Kindergarteners Celebrate Apple Day!
Kindergarten students at Brockbank Elementary recently celebrated Apple Day at school. The students participated in several different activities including tasting apples in several different forms; cut in slices, applesauce, pie, and juice; deciding which color of apple they like best, doing math and science activities involving apples, and illustrating their own apple books. It was a fun educational day that the students enjoyed.

Brockbank Elementary students and faculty on Thursday, October 8 wore silly socks to school and ate lifesavers to represent, "Sock it to Drugs! and "Life is a 'Hole' Lot Better Drug Free!"
Red Ribbon Week Continues at Brockbank
Brockbank Students are Hooked on Books, Not on Drugs!
Red Ribbon Week theme for Tuesday, Oct. 6 "How Many Book have You 'Red' today? Get addicted to Reading!" Brockbank Elementary was a sea of red today with the majority of the students and faculty wearing red. Each student received a red book mark and were encouraged to get addicted to reading and not to drugs. The last few minutes of the day classes went out into the hall and read. Brockbank students are getting "Hooked on Books and Not on Drugs!"
Red Ribbon Week at Brockbank Elementary
October 5-9, 2009 is Red Ribbon Week at Brockbank Elementary. Many exciting events have been planned for the week. Monday, Oct. 5, was Band Together Against Drugs! The students each received a red wristband to wear and pledge to stay drug free. To go along with the days theme of banding together, each student was given a red paper strip that they were to write or draw a pledge on to not to take drugs. Each class then put their strips together to make one long chain.
