Gingerbread Competition

Submitted by brenda.johnson on

To help everyone get in the Christmas spirit Brockbank's faculty and staff competed in a gingerbread competition. Each group had only one hour to make their house. The students got to decide the winner by voting for the gingerbread house they think is the best. Students each receive one vote placing their vote in one of the cans. Names will then be drawn out of each of the cans and a lucky student whose name is drawn will get that gingerbread house to take home.

Fourth Grade Students Make Ornaments for Zions Bank

Submitted by brenda.johnson on

Brockbank fourth grade students had the opportunity to walk to Zion's Bank and decorate the bank's Christmas Tree. The students with the help from their art teacher, Mrs. Karlee Banks made ornaments to put on the tree. Constanza Cuello, Branch Service Manager, gave each of the students a cookie and the bank donated $100 to the school. We appreciate Zion's Bank for giving us this opportunity!

Second Grade Show and Tell

Submitted by brenda.johnson on

Students in Kelsie Perrero's class have been bringing their cool pets to show and tell! They have had a bearded dragon named Lucy and two Mississippi Map turtles named Leonardo and Michelangelo come to their class so far. An interesting thing about bearded dragons is that when they get mad their beards puff up. An interesting thing about Mississippi Map turtles is that they live in rivers.

Each student put his/her name in the dictionary and is encouraged to use it during classwork and also at home. Central Bank has given Brockbank third grade students dictionaries for several years and we appreciate their continued support of our students.

Turkey Trouble in First Grade

Submitted by brenda.johnson on

Brockbank first-graders recently finished reading the book, "Turkey Trouble" written by Wendi J. Silvano. In the story a turkey is in trouble, bad trouble, it is almost Thanksgiving and he is the main course. Farmer Jake is looking for him. Turkey has an idea what if he doesn't look like a turkey? What if he looks like something different instead? First-graders then got to use their imaginations and pick a disguise for Turkey so Farmer Jake won't recognize him
