Brockbank fifth and sixth-graders have been working hard the last few months preparing for the district debate tournament. Under the direction of Mrs. Kristel Peterson, students have spent hours researching, dividing into affirmative and negative teams, and preparing oral arguments. At the district tournament Brockbank students did extremely well. In fact, all the teams were in the top ten! Students debated in teams of two, overall winners are in pairs. On the negative side, Hailey Hullinger and McKenzie Oyler took first place, Cassady Gappmayer and Natalie Noorda placed second, Talia McKinney and Natalie Millet placed fifth, and Anna Sharp and Kassidy Groves placed sixth. On the affirmative side, Annabelle Beck and Cassidy Bona took fourth place, Devin Berns and Samuel Bryson took sixth place, Austin Kubalek and Daniel Jones took seventh, Austin Baum and Wyatt Baum took ninth, and Nathan Wengreen and Caden Betts took tenth place.
