Brockbank Elementary Participates in Read for the Record

October 4, Brockbank Elementary participated in Jumpstart's national campaign to Read for the Record, where students were encouraged to read the children’s book "Ladybug Girl and the Bug Squad", by David Soman and Jacky Davis. Jumpstart’s mission is to work towards the day that every child in America enters school prepared to succeed. They are shooting to break the record for the most number of students joining in the shared reading of the book. Last year the record was over 2 million people. Brockbank had two books donated to our school, one by the Governor and the other by Mr. Dean Rowley. Mr. Dean Rowley read the book to Mrs. RaDawn Anderson's classroom, where he has a grandson in that class. Mrs. Peggy Rothaug, Brockbank's librarian, read the book to several classes and Mrs. Patty Bradford also read to students. Brockbank was happy to join in this great event to support literacy!
