Brockbank Students Enjoy Music Twister
Brockbank students, in their music class, have been learning the letter names on the music staff. To help students remember where the letter names are located, they played the game "Musical Twister" using a musical staff on the floor. The teacher would call out left or right foot or hand like regular twister, only instead of a color spot, they had to put their hand or foot on a letter of the staff. The students had a lot of fun playing and learning at the same time.
Brockbank Sixth Graders Enjoy School of Rock
On September 24, Brockbank sixth graders enjoyed "School of Rock" in their classroom. The students were given the assignment of creating a musical instrument from materials they found around their house. The instrument had to be able to make sound and vary in pitch level. The students then had to tell about their instrument and explain to the class how the sound is produced by using terms like pitch and vibration. It was a fun educational project and the students learned a lot.
