Veterans Visit Brockbank!

Brockbank Elementary had some very special visitors come to our school to honor Veteran's Day. We are so proud of all of our veterans and enjoy having them come and talk to us each year. The program consisted of the fifth-grade students singing a patriotic song, a slide show presentation, and each of the veterans introducing themselves and talking to the students. It was a very touching assembly reminding us all why veterans are so important and about all the sacrifices that they have made for us so that we can be free.

Brockbank Sixth-Graders Learn About Ancient Egypt

Submitted by brenda.johnson on

The week of October 5 - 10, the sixth-grade learned about the pyramids. We learned about who, what, and why the pyramids are there. We even learned about the mysterious King Tut. One fun activity was we got to create our own sarcophagus out of paper. We used metallic paints to make them dazzling and bright. We also used oil pastels to create their amazing masks. Another activity we had fun with was mummifying a poor little stuffed animal! We took out all the stuffing and made them smell like disgusting dead people.

Brockbank Students Do Great Work!

Submitted by brenda.johnson on
Brockbank School has students who work hard everyday. Teachers select students each month from their class whose work is exceptionally well done. They put the students' work on our Good Work Wall for the whole school to see. At the end of the month, Principal Alison Hansen goes into each classroom and celebrates with the students whose work was selected for the Good Work Wall and hands out a gift certificate from a local restaurant or a free movie ticket. Mrs. Janna Runolfson's class had five students in the month of October that received special recognition. Great job!
