The week of October 5 - 10, the sixth-grade learned about the pyramids. We learned about who, what, and why the pyramids are there. We even learned about the mysterious King Tut. One fun activity was we got to create our own sarcophagus out of paper. We used metallic paints to make them dazzling and bright. We also used oil pastels to create their amazing masks. Another activity we had fun with was mummifying a poor little stuffed animal! We took out all the stuffing and made them smell like disgusting dead people. Then, we put them in a box (sarcophagus) wrapped it in brown paper with layers of duct tape. We learned all the steps to creating a mummy and we sure had lots of fun!
