Book Fair Kick off - Dad's & Donuts!

The Book Fair will be open each day starting Friday, March 14, through Thursday, March 20, the following times:
Before school: 8:15 am - 8:40 am
Lunch: 11:30 am - 12:20 pm
After school: 2:55 pm - 3:15 pm
Thursday (SEP): 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Brockbank Elementary is pleased to announce and congratulate Mrs. Janna Runolfson for receiving Brockbank's Teacher of the Year Award for 2013-14. Janna is a first grade teacher here at Brockbank and is currently in her tenth year of teaching.

To help celebrate Dr. Seuss Day, Mrs. Amberly Kariuki's kindergarten class read the book, "Green Eggs and Ham". "Do you like green eggs and ham?" After reading the book students then got to eat "green eggs". What a fun way to celebrate a great author!
On March 3, Brockbank Elementary celebrated Dr. Seuss' birthday by doing several art and reading activities throughout the day. At the end of the day students enjoyed a read-a-thon. In some cases younger grade students were matched with older grade students and they would read together. Celebrating Dr. Seuss' birthday is a great way to get students motivated and excited to read!
Brockbank first grade students in Mrs. Lisa Bird's class for Dr. Seuss' Birthday along with other activites, read the book, "Fox in Socks". After reading the book they answered the quesiton, "My Super Sock Power Is...?" The students then for their writing assignment wrote down what there super sock does. There were some very interesting responses. One student wrote "My super sock power is when I put them on they make candy! My socks make candy all day" It was a fun way to learn and use their imagination!
Brockbank is happy to announce the Hansen Heroes for February. Hansen Heroes are students that make good choices and set good examples for their classmates!

Brockbank first graders in Mrs. Lisa Bird's class read the book, "Pirate Mark" and listened for all the AR sounds in the story. They made pirate hats and wore eye patches. In the story MARk loved chocolate bARs so do first graders so the students went on a treasure hunt around the school looking for AR clues to find the treasure. AAARGH what cute little pirates they ARe!
Monday, February 24, Brockbank families, thanks to the Brockbank PTA, got to enjoy a fun movie night. The PTA wanted to thank families for all of their support this year and with the help of the Spanish Fork Water Gardens Theater, they sponsored a movie night. The PTA does a lot for the school but they couldn't do it without all of the support they get from students and families.
