Brockbank's librarian, Mrs. Peggy Rothaug, is always doing something fun in the library for students to learn. She recently read the book, "On Halloween Night", by Harriet Ziefert. It is a story about a little girl named Emily getting dressed to go out on Halloween night. What costume will she wear? She has a cape that her grandma bought to go with the skirt that her grandpa brought. There are socks with stripes on the side, a purse with strings untied. She has a necklace all twisty and black, and a spooky pointed hat.

For a fun activity the students and teachers went outside and walked laps around the school. The students also received a red pencil symbolizing the fact that "Brockbank Students are Too Sharp to Take Drugs!"

October 18-22, 2009 is Red Ribbon Week at Brockbank Elementary. Many exciting events have been planned for the week. Monday, Oct. 18, was "Join Hands to Take a Stand Against Drugs!" The students were encouraged to wear red and were given a red wristband to wear and pledge to stay drug free. To go along with the day's theme of joining hands together, each student made a paper hand where they then wrote or drew a pledge on it to not take drugs. In the afternoon, all the students joined hands to make one long chain around the school.
