Brockbank Elementary Celebrates Dr. Seuss' Birthday

On Monday, March 2, Brockbank Elementary celebrated Dr. Seuss' Birthday. The committee which included, Mrs. Kendra McPherson, Ms. Kristi Jensen, Mr. Greg Hunt, Miss Clarrissa Putnam, and Mrs. EmmaLee Stewart, did a fantastic job decorating and planning a fun assembly. First, Principal Larraine Nelson read the Dr. Seuss book, "Horton Hears a Who", to the students then everyone watched a movie made from clips honoring Dr Seuss' book "ABC".  Each class was given a letter of the alphabet which they acted out or read either from the book or used their creativity and came up with something on their own. After the movie, older grade students were matched with younger students so they could read together. While the students were reading the faculty and staff surprised the students with a flash mob. You can watch the video of the flash mob by going to Brockbank's facebook page.  Celebrating Dr. Seuss' birthday is a great way to get students motivated and excited to read!
