Brockbank Kindergarteners Perform the Three Little Pigs

Submitted by brenda.johnson on

Brockbank kindergarteners in Mrs. Tara Farr and Miss Clarissa Putnam's classes have been learning about the letters in the alphabet. Recently while learning about the Letter P and since pigs start with the letter P, Mrs. Tara Farr read the story and  the students put on the play, "The Three Little Pigs". Each student had the opportunity to act out a part either as the wolf or one of the three pigs. It was a fun way to learn about the letter P.

On Wednesday, November 12, the fourth-grade students at Brockbank Elementary celebrated their Utah Heritage with a pioneer program. Students dressed in pioneer/cowboy attire sang and danced like the pioneers did so many years ago. Parents were then invited to dance with their student for some fun square dancing. It was a fun evening and everyone enjoyed themselves!

Brockbank Sixth-Graders Learn About Ancient Egypt

Submitted by brenda.johnson on

Recently Brockbank sixth-graders learned about ancient pyramids. They learned about who, what, and why the pyramids exist. They also learned all about the mysterious King Tut. One fun activity they got to do was to create their own sarcophagus out of paper. They laid on the floor while someone traced them and then they used metallic paints and oil pastels to make them dazzling and bright. Another activity they had fun with was mummifying stuffed animals. They took out all the stuffing out and then put them in a box (sarcophagus) wrapped it in toilet paper.

Veterans Visit Brockbank

Tuesday, November 11, Brockbank Elementary had some very special visitors come to our school to honor Veteran's Day. We are so proud of all of our veterans and enjoy having them come and talk to us each year. The program consisted of the fifth-grade students singing a patriotic song, a slide show presentation, and each of the veterans introducing themselves and talking to the students. It was a very touching assembly reminding us all why veterans are so important and about all the sacrifices that they have made for us so that we can be free.
