Brockbank Kicks Off Book Fair With Dads and Donuts!

Brockbank Elementary held their annual "Dads and Donuts" on Wednesday, October 15. The students, along with their dads, moms, grandparents, or other special family members came and were able to  browse for books through the book fair and then enjoy a donut in the cafeteria. Brockbank students and faculty would like to thank the PTA for sponsoring this fun morning. The book fair will run the following week Oct. 20 - 23 before school, during lunch, and after school and all evening Thursday night during SEP conferences.

Brockbank Fifth-Graders Enjoy D.A.R.E.!

Brockbank fifth-grade students as part of their D.A.R.E. program taught by Officer Bryan DeWitt have been learning several lessons about drugs and ways to avoid the many influences in their lives that might lead them down dangerous paths. One of the fun activities fifth-graders got to do was to see Officer DeWitt's patrol car and see all the equipment that he uses to do his job. He showed them how some of it works and how he uses it in his job. Students have really learned a lot this year and are looking forward to graduating from D.A.R.E.

Brockbank Elementary is "Proud to be Drug Free!"

Red Ribbon Week concluded Friday, October 10 with School Spirit Day. Students were encouraged to wear their school shirts or school colors (maroon or navy blue) to show that "Brockbank Elementary is Proud to be Drug Free! Also to help celebrate the PTA had another "Popcorn Friday" . They are going to sell popcorn every second Friday during lunch recess. 

Brockbank Red Ribbon "Don't Let Drugs Capture You!"

Red Ribbon Week continues at Brockbank. On Thursday, October 9, it was "Don't Let Drugs Capture You!" The students wore sports shirts and learned how important it is to remember to stay healthy and stay active, physically and mentally. A healthy mind is less likely to take drugs! For a fun activity some of the Spanish Fork High School athletes came to Brockbank during their lunch hour to play with students.

Brockbank's Book Fair is Coming!

Brockbank is excited about our upcoming Book Fair which will kick off Wed. October 15 with our annual Dad's and Donuts! Make sure to bring your dad, mom, grandpa, grandma or any special family member on Wednesday morning from 7:45 - 8:30 AM to browse through the book fair and enjoy donuts and milk. The book fair will run the following week Oct. 20 - 23 before school, during lunch, and after school and all evening Thursday night during SEP conferences. The book fair will close Thursday evening.

Brockbank Sixth-Graders Participate in a "Battle of the Greek Gods"!

Recently the entire sixth-grade participated in a Battle of the Greek Gods. This was an all-day activity at Swenson park where the students rotated and participated in many team-building activities. Each rotation included a task that required students to use strategies and work together to solve a problem. Brockbank sixth-grade teachers and students want to thank all the parents for their support and help! The students could not have had such a great experience without them!

Brockbank Red Ribbon Lunch Recess Activity, "Don't Let Drugs Bite You!"

Tuesday, October 7,  during lunch recess the sixth-grade Red Ribbon Student Council took out the parachute and played a shark game with the second graders. The theme was “Don’t Let Drugs Bite You!” Each day student council members play a game with a different grade. Monday, they played Frisbee with the first-graders. The theme was "Fly Away From Drugs!"

 


 

Brockbank Students Participate in D.A.R.E. Activity

Brockbank fifth-grade students learning Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) training taught by Officer Bryan DeWitt of the Spanish Fork Police Department, recently got to participate in an activity. The activity was on the potential dangers of being intoxicated and it's effects on the person's reflects, judgement, and overall ability to do simple tasks. The students were given goggles to wear that simulate being under the influence and asked to ride a scooter through cones and throw a football.
