First grade students enjoyed a Charlie Brown Thanksgiving feast with popcorn, toast, Jelly Beans, and pretzels. They read the story and then watched parts of the movie to compare. It was a wonderful time!
Students in Mrs. Jessica Heelis' class enjoyed a Thanksgiving feast that they helped prepare and decorate for.
Brockbank first-graders recently finished reading the book, "Turkey Trouble" written by Wendi J. Silvano. In the story a turkey is in trouble, bad trouble, it is almost Thanksgiving and he is the main course. Farmer Jake is looking for him. Turkey has an idea what if he doesn't look like a turkey? What if he looks like something different instead? First-graders then got to use their imaginations and pick a disguise for Turkey so Farmer Jake won't recognize him
Brockbank Elementary is happy to share some fun ways on "How to Cook a Turkey" according to kindergarten students.
Grey Hudson says 1. Get it from my farm. 2. Put it on the stove. 3. Burn it on the frying pan. 4. Put salt and pepper and tomatoes. 5. Eat it .
Porter Mendenhall says 1. Kill with a sword. 2. Stuff the turkey. 3. Cook in the oven at 47 degrees. 4. Cook for 48 minutes. 5. Eat it (that's it).
Kaysen Kinsey says 1. Get it from the store. 2. Put it on the stove. 3. Cook it for 7 hours. 4. Put some seasonings. 5. Eat it!
We had a fun gobbling competition assembly to get us all excited for Thanksgiving. Each class picked a student to compete with other students in their grade. Students did their best turkey imitations (behind the curtain). The audience of students then clapped, screamed and yelled for the student they thought sounded most like a turkey. It was then up to our "celebrity judges" Dancing Debbie Davis, Turkey Tammy Thompson, and Silvia Stuffing, to make the final decision.
