Tuesday, March 22, Brockbank fifth grade students had the opportunity to meet Spanish Fork Police Department's K9 dogs, "Maverick" and his trainer/handler Officer Dave Spencer and Officer Wyatt Davis and his dog "Ice Man". Students got to see some of the things Maverick and Ice Man are trained to do in helping in drug detection and apprehension of criminals. Officer Owen Leifson who teaches NOVA (was DARE) to the fifth-graders wore a padded suit so students could see some of Maverick and Ice Man's training. The students really enjoyed having Officer Spencer and Officer Davis come and speak to them and to see the K-9 dogs.
