Brockbank is so lucky to have a great teacher with a passion for debate. Mrs. Kristel Peterson will be awarded the Carol Lynn Ross Award given by the Utah Debate Committee in recognition for being an outstanding debate coach. Kristel has given many hours of her time teaching students how to do research. Students divide into affirmative and negative teams, and spend lots of hours preparing oral arguments. Kristel wants the students to be the ones to do the research and get the answers to any of their questions. She provides them with constructive criticism and is positive in her teaching because she believes debate is seeing both sides of an issue, learning all you can about it and trying to understand the consequences of choices. We are so proud she is at Brockbank and excited that a teacher as well deserved as Kristel is receiving such an amazing award. Below is a link of the article that appeared in the Daily Herald honoring her for all of her hard work.http://www.heraldextra.com/news/local/south/spanish-fork/nebo-teacher-honored-for-putting-in-hours-to-teach-debate/article_a48efe27-eabd-54d4-8de5-4e494e670c83.html
