This weeks Brockbank staff spotlights are Miss Alyson Tobler and Mrs. Ruth Dahl. Miss Alyson Tobler is a special education / resource teacher here at Brockbank. She lives in Spanish Fork. Alyson grew up in Idaho, the oldest of eight children. She has 14 nephews and 10 nieces, Alyson said she is their "favorite aunt" ( I am sure that is true). Alyson likes to cross stitching, art (all forms of art) - oil, water color, and pencil, playing the piano (which she said she is just learning), and trying her hand in new and different things. She loves traveling to new places, but most of all just being with and spending time with family. Some of her favorites are the color forest green, chocolate everything, Mexican food, a variety of songs, the movie, "Pride and Prejudice", swimming, BYU sports, reading whatever book is new and looks good at Seagull Books, and eating at Cafe' Rio. Alyson's favorite vacation destination is to go to Hawaii! Something she said no one knows about her is that when she is watching movies at the theater she tends to laugh out loud! Alyson has been at Brockbank for the past 12 years, before coming to Brockbank she taught one year at Malad Junior High. Besides being a teacher, Alyson for the past six years has been Brockbank's DART (District Art Rep.Team) representative, she attends meetings and then reports back to Brockbank teachers. The special education team leader for the past 9 years and a UEA / NEA member for 13 years. Alyson is a great friend to everyone and we are so happy she is here! Mrs. Ruth Dahl is a foster grandma in Mrs. Tara Farr's kindergarten class. She lives in Spanish Fork and has one daughter and two sons. She is the grandma to 47 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren (besides being a "grandma" to the 38 students in Mrs. Farr's kindergarten classes). Ruth likes crocheting, knitting, cross stitching, reading, and listening to stories on tape. Some of her favorites are the color blue, the song, "God Bless America", the movie, "Wonderful Life", the book, "Ben Hur", chocolate, macaroni and cheese, watching BYU football, and eating at Denny's. Her favorite vacation destination is to go to Disneyland! Something not everyone knows about her is that she was a gold miner from 1982-(until approximately 2000)! Grandma Dahl has been a foster grandma at Brockbank for the past three years. Mrs. Farr said she is very efficient and does a great job! The students love her funny stories about when she grew up!
