Services Available

Individual Counseling

If your child is experiencing a challenge with something that interferes with their school success I would like to be on their team. Students can be referred for services by a parent, a teacher or themselves.

All must have a signed parent consent form before ongoing services can be provided.

You can obtain a consent form from the counselor  or the front office.

After a parent consent form is completed I will meet with them on an as needed basis.  Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions about their progress.  I look forward to meeting you and your child.

Classroom Presentations

The school counselor will be visiting each of the classrooms throughout the year to present Life Skills lessons. Examples of these lessons are : dealing with feelings, being responsible, learning to cooperate, how to deal with change, being a friend, resolving conflicts, and strengthening self esteem. Your students are encouraged to go home and share what they have learned in these lessons.

This also helps your student feel comfortable speaking with the counselor in the case they would benefit from individual services.

Small Group Counseling

Sessions may be held during the year to address identified needs such as:

     - Anger Management   - Divorce    - School Behavior    - Grief    - Self-Esteem  - Social Skills

 - Stress Management - Anxiety    - Family issues

or other personal, social, emotional or behavioral issues.

Parent consent forms will be required for participation in these groups.

School Counselors are not therapists.  Groups and individual counseling sessions are designed to teach students skills that can help them cope with the problems or issues they are currently facing, to help them be successful at school.  If you feel that your child needs therapy, please go to the parent resources page on this site to find a list of counseling resources in Utah Valley.
