Turkey Fun at Brockbank

Submitted by brenda.johnson on

We had a fun gobbling competition assembly to get us all excited for Thanksgiving. Each class picked a student to compete with other students in their grade. Students did their best turkey imitations (behind the curtain). The audience of students then clapped, screamed and yelled for the student they thought sounded most like a turkey. It was then up to our "celebrity judges" Dancing Debbie Davis, Turkey Tammy Thompson, and Silvia Stuffing, to make the final decision.

Third Grade Students Receive Dictionaries

Submitted by brenda.johnson on
Brockbank third graders were thrilled to receive dictionaries donated by Central Bank.  Spanish Fork Rotary Club who has a goal of placing a dictionary in the hands of every third grade student. Each student put his/her name in the dictionary and is encouraged to use it during classwork and also at home.  Thank you Tyler Mendenhall and Landon Swenson for bringing the dictionaries to the students. Central Bank has given Brockbank third grade students dictionaries for several years and we appreciate their continued support of our students.

We Love Our Veterans

Submitted by brenda.johnson on
Friday, November 10, Brockbank Elementary had some very special visitors come to our school to honor Veterans Day. We are so proud of all of our veterans and enjoy having them come and talk to us each year. Brockbank students welcomed the veterans to our school by waving American Flags. Fifth grade students sang. The veterans introduced themselves to the students and showed a slide show presentation. It was a very touching assembly reminding us all why veterans are so important and about all the sacrifices that they have made for us so that we can be free.

Monday night, October 30, Brockbank's PTA sponsored a fun school fun night. There was a haunted stage, pumpkin decorating, pumpkin golf, face painting, cupcake walk, bean bag toss, fishing game, and a squishy feel game. There was pizza for sale. Baskets donated by parents and teachers were auctioned off in a silent auction. Thanks to our fabulous PTA the school carnival was a huge success! #BrockbankPTA #Lookat Brockbank #BrockbankBest

Bronco Best Students for October

Submitted by brenda.johnson on

At Brockbank we have a program where deserving students earn "Bronco Best" cards. Students earn this honor by being their BEST at Brockbank! They are doing their BEST when they are: Building a community that cares, Engaging in lifelong learning, Setting goals for growth and success, and Taking ownership for their actions.

This month the students learned about how important it is when they make mistakes to own up to them and apologize. Everyone makes mistakes.

Students that show their outstanding citizenship by being their B.E.S.T. are given a blue Bronco Best card. ( B - Building a community that cares, E - Engaging in lifelong learning, S - Setting goals from growth and success, T- Taking ownership for my actions) Once a student earns this award, they come to the office and give the blue card to the principal. He then calls home to let the parents know their child has earned this award.
