Loveland Living Planet Aquarium Visits Brockbank

Submitted by brenda.johnson on
On September 12th, the Loveland Living Planet Aquarium came to Brockbank second graders. It was a fun experience for the students to learn about different habitats that are found throughout the world. The visiting group not only taught us about animals, but even brought some for everyone to look at. The students were able to see and touch a Madagascar Cockroach, a rainforest tree frog, and a giant cockroach. It was great to see the students engaged in their learning with such excitement! Thank you Loveland Living Planet Aquarium for visiting our second grade!

Music is in the Air

For the next few weeks, you might see a new face around…….Or hear some piano being played before school! Meet Laura Brockbank! She’s a Nebo District BTS Arts Integration Specialist in Music (whew, what a long title!) This means that for the next 6 weeks, she will be working with classroom teachers on using MUSIC to teach other subjects (like math, spelling, writing, science, etc.) She is very excited to be at our school!

Fourth Grade STEM Challenge

Submitted by brenda.johnson on

Mrs. Kariuki’s class participated in a Fun Friday STEM challenge. They tried the Pringles Ring Challenge and it was so fun! Mrs. Kariuki said she has never done this one before, and was worried they might not be able to do it. But of course they did! These kids are rockstars! Congrats to Hazel, Giovanna, and Milly for completing the challenge! There were other teams that were so close.

We were so happy to see all the smiling faces as students returned back to school.  Thanks so much to the lieutenants from the Spanish Fork Police Department, Kade Harding and Brandon Anderson, for helping us welcome our students back to school.
