Mary Briggs Retires As Librarian at Brockbank Elementary

Mary Briggs has recently retired as the librarian for Brockbank Elementary School. Mary began working at Brockbank School at the beginning of the 1984-85 school year. In her twenty-five years at Brockbank, Mary has been a favorite among students and faculty. Mary has been a constant in a faculty that experiences changes each year. She is one of the first to welcome new faculty and staff members and instantly makes people feel welcome. She has worked for 3 of the 4 principals at Brockbank Elementary and has enjoyed positive relationships with each one.

Brockbank Students Excel at the Utah State Debate Tournament

On April 29, 2011, six Brockbank students represented their school in the Utah State Elementary Debate Tournament.  All year, students worked in partnerships and have prepared arguments for either for the affirmative or for the negative.  All elementary students statewide receive the same topic.  This year, the topic was, "Resolved:  The State of Utah should require all state government buildings to have a renewable energy source as a significant part of their total energy use."  Hailey Hullinger and McKenzie Oyler took 5th place overall and Cassady Gappmayer and Ni

Brockbank Sixth-Graders Publish Newsletter in Their Computer Class

This year in Mrs. Frances Dyches' computer class, sixth-grade students learned how to use Microsoft Publisher and published a quarterly newsletter. The students were responsible for gathering information on sports, field trips, activities, assemblies, birthdays, and anything else news worthy happening in sixth-grade. The newsletter was then emailed to all sixth-grade students and their teachers. It was a great learning experience.
