Recently, Brockbank Elementary students grades third thru sixth participated in an assembly featuring the popular fiction series of Michael Vey written by bestselling author Richard Paul Evans. In conjunction with the Books Rock! Tour, Mr. Evans’ friend and educational partner Doug Osmond visited with students to not only promote literacy but to share skills in how to succeed in life. Mr. Osmond shared the following principles of success with the students:
1. First: shut off the TV, including video games.
2. Second: Read, read, read, read. “Readers are the leaders!”

Brockbank Elementary Loves Box Tops for Education!

Submitted by brenda.johnson on

Box Tops for Education is one of the nation’s largest school fundraising loyalty programs and has been helping schools succeed since 1996. Brockbank's PTA collects box tops for our school. Last year Brockbank families brought in over $900 in box tops that the school was able to buy new PE equipment. This year we are earning money for track meet buckets so that each grade level 3-6 will have their own equipment; stops watches, balls, etc.

Brockbank Elementary is excited for a great school year, but we can't do it alone. Brockbank Holds Annual Walk A Thon

Submitted by brenda.johnson on

Brockbank PTA along with Brockbank staff recently held their eighth annual walk-a-thon fundraiser. It was a great success with lots of support from the students and parents. Students, along with many of their parents, walked laps around a track set up on the grass field as a way to exercise and raise money for the school. It was a fun evening! We intend to put the funds we raised towards some matching funds grants. Each of our students will benefit from increased technology in every classroom.
