Brockbank Fourth-Graders Perform a Play!

Submitted by brenda.johnson on

Recently, Mrs. Larina Quispe's class has been learning about theater. Nebo School District Drama Specialist, Mrs. Lisa Bean came and helped the students get started. She held auditions and cast the students in the roles that they would be playing. Students worked hard getting ready to perform their play for their family and friends. The script was from the book, "The Little Old Lady Who Was Not Afraid of Anything" by Linda Williams. The students did an excellent job and had a great time performing their play!

Brockbank Sixth-Graders Learn About Ancient Egypt

Submitted by brenda.johnson on

The week of October 5 - 10, the sixth-grade learned about the pyramids. We learned about who, what, and why the pyramids are there. We even learned about the mysterious King Tut. One fun activity was we got to create our own sarcophagus out of paper. We used metallic paints to make them dazzling and bright. We also used oil pastels to create their amazing masks. Another activity we had fun with was mummifying a poor little stuffed animal! We took out all the stuffing and made them smell like disgusting dead people.

Each of the students got a small pumpkin to bring back with them. It was a fun day!

Brockbank Students Do Great Work!

Submitted by brenda.johnson on
Brockbank School has students who work hard everyday. Teachers select students each month from their class whose work is exceptionally well done. They put the students' work on our Good Work Wall for the whole school to see. At the end of the month, Principal Alison Hansen goes into each classroom and celebrates with the students whose work was selected for the Good Work Wall and hands out a gift certificate from a local restaurant or a free movie ticket. Mrs. Janna Runolfson's class had five students in the month of October that received special recognition. Great job!

Brockbank Third Graders Recieve Dictionaries!

Submitted by brenda.johnson on
Brockbank third graders were thrilled to receive dictionaries donated by Central Bank this week. Mr. Glen Roach, is a part of the Spanish Fork Rotary Club who has a goal of placing a dictionary in the hands of every third grade student. Each student put his/her name in the dictionary and is encouraged to use it during classwork and also at home. Mr. Roach has sponsored Brockbank Elementary for several years and we appreciate his continued support of our students. Third graders look forward every year to Mr. Glen Roach's visit and the dictionaries he brings.
