Submitted by brenda.johnson on

One sixth-grade class and one fifth-grade class in Mrs. Frances Dyches' computer class got the opportunity to send letters to the troops for Christmas. For a typing assignment, they typed their letters telling the troops how much they appreciate the sacrifices they are making. They told them a little about themselves and what subjects were their favorites. They wished the troops a Merry Christmas and told them to come home safely. The students then printed their letters and Mrs. Dyches is going to send them. Students really enjoyed the assignment and hope the troops enjoy their letters.

Their next stop was at the BYU Art Museum where the students ate lunch. After they ate they entered the museum where they learned about 3D art and ancient civilizations. Their third and final stop was arriving back safely at Brockbank. It was a fun field trip!

Brockbank First Graders Read, "Turkey Trouble"

Submitted by brenda.johnson on

Brockbank first-graders recently finished reading the book, "Turkey Trouble" written by Wendi J. Silvano. In the story a turkey is in trouble, bad trouble, it is almost Thanksgiving and he is the main course. Farmer Jake is looking for him. Turkey has an idea what if he doesn't look like a turkey? What if he looks like another animal instead? First-graders then got to use their imaginations and pick a disguise for Turkey so Farmer Jake won't recognize him.
