Hello, Brockbank Families!

We want to thank you for your support for our FUN RUN!  We had a great time and the students seem to enjoy the time outside!  We appreciate your pledges and we will continue to accept them this week!  We’re excited to put the money towards books, benchmark kits, and charging stations!  Thanks so much!

SEP SIGN UPS:  If you have NOT signed up for SEP Conferences, please do so before Oct. 18th.  After that date we will close the sign up page.  If you need to sign up or change your scheduled time after the 18th, you will need to contact your child’s teacher.

Picture Retakes:  October 17th will be picture retakes!  If you want your child’s pictures retaken, please send the packet with your child to school.

Dads and Doughnuts: October 18th will be our fun Dads and Doughnuts activity!  We invite you to bring your child and kick off the Book Fair with this fun event. It will be from 7:15-8:30!  Thanks to our awesome PTA for all of their help!

Fall Break: October 19-20!  Enjoy!

Book Fair: Our PTA Book Fair will be scheduled for October 18th, then the 23rd-26th.  We appreciate your support for the Book Fair, and appreciate all the hard work the PTA does in getting this ready!

Learning Through Robotics:  We are still accepting students for our Robotics class.  It is held after school, every Thursday, for 9 weeks.  This will be a great class where the students will be doing many hands-on activities with robots that they will build!  Please contact the office if you are interested.

Reflection Contest:
Reflections!

What: PTA believes that all children deserve opportunities to explore and be involved in the arts. Reflections began in 1969 and has inspired millions of students to reflect on a specific theme and create original artwork. Our Theme this year is "Within Reach".  We are looking for original works of art in photography, dance choreography, literature, visual art, 3-D art, film production, and music composition.

Who: Students at Brockbank all ages and abilities!

Where: Entries due Tuesday October 24th. Entry forms will be available at the office.

Why: A great way to let your student express their original ideas! Explore the theme and then let them create!

Any questions email Cindy Shepherd at eggmomma [at] gmail.com. We can't wait to see what the incredible students at Brockbank create!

District Survey:
Dear Parent:

Nebo School District sincerely appreciates your support of Nebo School District and the opportunity to work together with you to provide an exceptional education for our students. We would appreciate your input on the Bond Survey before October 31. Please go to www.nebo.edu to begin the survey.

Nebo School District is in the initial planning process for a Bond Election to be held next year on November 6, 2018. Bonding is the primary method school districts use to construct new schools and meet other facility priorities. Bond money cannot be used for salaries and benefits.

Based on previous community feedback of wanting to move to the middle school model, Nebo School District plans to ask patrons to approve a $298 million dollar bond in November 2018. This tax-rate-neutral (no tax rate increase) bond will be used for:

1.   Building three new middle schools for students in sixth and seventh grade. These middle schools will be located within the boundaries of Salem Hills High, Springville High, and Maple Mountain High. As the new middle schools are completed, Mt. Nebo Junior High and Diamond Fork Junior High will become middle schools;

2.   Rebuilding Payson High, Spanish Fork High, and Springville High; and

3.    Making improvements to existing buildings and sites. It is estimated that approximately $10 million dollars of bond funds will be focused on upgrades and improvements.

The Nebo School Board's decision on which projects to include will rely on public input and recommendations from parent committees.

In accordance with state law, the Nebo School Board will finalize all plans prior to the 2018 Bond Election so the voting public will know the specific plans before voting. In the coming months, please continue to look for additional bond information at www.nebo.edu and in meetings held throughout Nebo School District.

Again, Nebo School District sincerely appreciates your input and support of Nebo School District. Please go to www.nebo.edu to begin the survey.

SEP Conferences: October 26th, from 3:00-8:30, will be our SEP Conferences.  If you did not sign up for a time for the conference at the Open House, please go to the school website and sign up for a time that would work best for you.

We invite you to LIKE us on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, as well as our own Brockbank website!  Follow us on Instagram--#Brockbankbest, #Lookatbrockbank, and #BrockbankBFF
