Hello, Brockbank Families!

Time is winding down and I can hardly believe that another year of school is close to being finished!  There are so many of you that help our school run smoothly and I can’t thank you enough for the extra time and effort you put in to helping our students and teachers!  Brockbank is truly the place to be!

We are excited about quite a few things that are going on this week, beginning with the 1st Grade program that will be tomorrow night!  Tuesday, May 17th at 6:00 will be Mrs. Noorda’s class and Mrs. Alder’s class programs, then at 7:00 we will have Mrs. Bird’s class and Mrs. Stewart’s class programs.

Tomorrow will also be the Track Meet for the 6th Grades, and Thursday, May 19th, will be the Track Meet for the 3rd Grades.  Please make sure your child dresses for any kind of weather!

Thursday, May 19th will also be a big day for our 6th Grades as we will be celebrating their graduation from Brockbank Elementary School!  This program will begin at 6:00.

Thursday, May 26th will be our Field Day and we are excited for that fun day.  Please make sure your child has sun screen and a hat to wear as he/she will be outside most of the morning!

The last day of school, May 27th, we will have our annual swimming day at the SF Pool!  This is such a fun tradition and we look forward to spending the last day of school there!

We are having summer school throughout June and July to help students keep up on their reading skills.  The sessions will be Tuesdays and Thursdays, and registration forms are in the office!  The cost is $30.00/child.

We are also excited to announce a summer reading program that we shared with the students today.  Your child should have received a bright yellow and green packet that explains our summer reading program.  We want all the students to read throughout the summer and keep track of their reading minutes.  If your child brings the calendar back to school in the fall, and has read 80 minutes a week, he/she will be able to participate in our “POP” After Summer Reading Party!  Along with this program, the SF Library came today and talked about their summer reading activities, which sounded awesome!  I hope you will be able to take advantage of going there as well as to our library, which will be open Tuesday mornings!

Our teachers here at Brockbank are wonderful, and while I don’t encourage requests, if you have a situation you feel needs attention, you may come in and fill out a teacher request form.  This is the last week for teacher requests.

Thanks for all you do!  We look forward to some great events these next two weeks and hope you are enjoying all that your child is doing as well, here at Brockbank!

As always-check the web for more information!
