HELLO, BROCKBANK FAMILIES!
Happy Birthday, Dr. Seuss! We are excited for this week, celebrating Dr. Seuss's birthday and
reading! It was fun to see all the students in their hats, for "Cat in the Hat" Day!
Here is what we will be doing the rest of the week:
Tuesday, March 2-Fox in Sox! Everyone is invited to wear crazy socks!
Wednesday, March 3-Wacky Wednesday-Get wacky wearing backwards clothing or mismatch
clothing or crazy hair!
Thursday, March 4-Oh the Places You'll Go! Dress like what you want to be when you grow up!
Friday, March 5-Red Fish, Blue Fish! Wear red or blue-school spirit colors! Read-a-thon in the
afternoon!

STUDENT SAFETY
Thank you, parents, for following the laws and for driving slowly and carefully when picking up
your child. I see parents slowing down and being considerate of other drivers while picking up
students.
Please also be aware of the following:
*Please do not flip a U-Turn on 300 West. In the morning or afternoon, there are too many students that are walking and crossing the streets, and too many parents driving in and out of the school grounds, that this is an unsafe practice. Please follow the laws!

*Please cross at the intersections and do not have your child cross with you in the middle of
the road. Please be an example of safety!
*If you park in the parking lot, please get out of your car and go and wait for your child so
he/she is not crossing alone in front of buses and cars.

STAKEHOLDER SURVEY
In an attempt to celebrate the good work happening in our schools and to identify areas where
we can improve, we ask that you complete this anonymous survey. Thank you!
Here is the link to the survey:

5TH AND 6TH GRADE GRADUATION
PICTURES
LifeTouch will be here to take graduation pictures for all 5th and 6th grade students. Because
of COVID they will not be providing caps and gowns for the students. We encourage 5th and
6th grade students to wear their best dress for the pictures. Your 5th or 6th grade child should
be bringing home a picture packet order form.

6TH GRADE IMPORTANT INFORMATION
This time of year is a busy time for our students getting ready to move on to the next level! In
this case, Middle School! We are excited for both our 5th and 6th grade students and the
adventure they will have next year in middle school. We have a few things planned for them
and want you to put them on your schedule:
Please see the attachment for 6th grade students for their 6th grade immunization
requirements.
Sharp Survey for 6th grade students: You will be receiving an email that gives us permission
for your child to take the SHARP Survey. This survey is given to get a snapshot of students
across the country at this age. It also gives our school valuable information! Please watch for
that email.

MARCH 16TH-MINIMAL DAY
On Tuesday, March 16th, our students will be dismissed at noon because of district training for

walking students will be leaving at 12:00.
Morning Kindergarten will not attend that day, however afternoon kindergarten will come in the
morning at 8:45 and will be dismissed at 11:00. Bus students will be dismissed with the
regular buses, which will be closer to 11:30.

work, please notify your teacher.

GIVE KIDS A SMILE EVENT.
Throughout the months of February – August, we will be having our Give Kids a Smile event.
Because of the limitations from COVID-19, we will be having families make appointments at
participating dental o

ces to receive their free dental care at different times and locations.

See the attachment below.

PLEASE, NO OTHER DRINKS THAN WATER!
AND...A FEW OTHER IMORTANT
REMINDERS!
*Please have your child only bring water in his/her water bottle. Please do not send juice, pop,
or Gatorade. Since we are eating in our classrooms, we have had quite a few spills and it is
making a mess on the carpets. Thanks!
*We are having quite a number of students that are forgetting their masks. We have masks
available, but it is costing us quite a bit to purchase them. Please make sure your child has a
clean, cloth mask each day when he/she comes to school.
*Please make sure your child has a warm coat for these cold days!
