Hello, Brockank Families!

I hope you had a great weekend! There is a bit of FALL in the air and I hope you will all remember to have your children dress appropriately! We never know if a storm will hit right before the bell rings, or if we will be hot from the warm sunshine!

MAKE A CONNECTION

We are learning more and more that we are losing connections with our youth! With texting, social media and such, we are losing some of the face to face interactions and conversations that are so vital to the development of our children! Each week I hope to add just a small reminder to make a connection with your child! Every little connection you make with your child helps him/her build a foundation of emotional, mental, physical and social stability.

This week's connection: Hug your child! We are told that children need a hug for a good 8 seconds a day!

REFLECTIONS-DUE OCTOBER 2ND!

We are so excited about Reflections and the upcoming due date next week, Wednesday October 2nd! We hope your student has been thinking and working on a project, and we can't wait to see all their hard work! This year Reflections has gone all digital so here is the link for the entry form www.shorturl.at/axKWX. Everything you need will be on that form, and instructions on how to do it and how to upload any images of your student's project . If you have a problem or would like the PTA to help we will be there to do it Wednesday Morning. PTA POPCORN FRIDAY!

This Friday, September 27th, will be our first Popcorn Friday! Popcorn will be sold for fifty cents a cup at lunchtime! Thanks to our great PTA for having this fun tradition for our students!

The PTA is encouraging families to join the PTA now, to stay involved in Brockbank's PTA activities, fundraisers, teacher appreciation events, and more. This is an easy and affordable way to stay connected to your child's education and support the school.

We have set up an online store so it's easier to buy a membership. We also are sending an envelope home with your child, as another way to pay and join the PTA.

Early Morning Drop-Off

Parents, I just want to let you know our procedures for students before school begins. Our doors will always be open at 8:00 am or before. Children will wait in the lunchroom where they may read, draw, visit quietly, or do homework. Those students that are eating breakfast will be able to eat at around 8:15. At 8:25 we will announce that students may go to either their classroom, outside, or the gym if the weather is bad. Our first bell will ring at 8:40 and then the students will head to their classrooms!

Safety

Parents, please follow our school rules that we expect our students to follow! Please be an example! Here are some reminders:

*If you are picking up your child, you will need to park on 300 West. If you park on the east side, YOU WILL NEED TO HAVE YOUR CHILD CROSS AT THE INTERSECTION WITH THE CROSSING GUARD.

*Please drive slowly and be patient. We all need to work together to get our children safely home!

*If you want to park in the parking lot, you will need to park your car, then walk in and get your child.

*Please do not park where there are orange cones.

*If you are coming into the school to get your child, please wait in the front entrance until the bell has rung.

We want to keep our students safe, and even though you may be with them, we need you to follow the rules as well.

Box Tops

Please also remember to keep collecting Box Tops! Students can bring in their Box Tops and give them to their classroom teachers!
