Hello, Brockbank Families!

It's hard to believe that this is the last week of February! Spring will be here before we know it!

Service Learning Project-WOUNDED WARRIORS PROJECT

This is the last week for our Wounded Warrior's Project! We want to encourage you to have your child do something around your home to earn money for our Wounded Warrior's Project! The students have done such a great job, and the sixth grade students brought in the biggest "gain" for the week last week! Every coin helps!

Dr. Seuss Day!

Friday, March 1st will be our school-wide Dr. Seuss Day! We invite all of our students to wear GREEN! We hope in celebrating Dr. Seuss Day we can share the importance of reading and to make it a priority to read DAILY!!!

Kindergarten Registration Update

There has been a change with Kindergarten Registration! We will NOT be having an early pre-registration for kindergarten as we have in the past. Kindergarten Registration will be at the same time as our regular registration for all students that is normally done in the summer. More information with this announcement will be coming.

March 4th-Students Dismissed at Noon

Monday, March 4th is a district minimal day, which means that the students will be dismissed at noon. The afternoon will be devoted to professional development for our teachers! Thanks for helping us out with this day! Our bus students will be dismissed at about 11:30, and our walking students will be dismissed at noon.

SEP Conferences

We will have our last SEP Conference on Thursday, March 14th. We love these conferences when we can take time to celebrate your child's accomplishments! Your child will be bringing home a note with your scheduled time. If that time does not work, please indicate on the note and your child's teacher will reschedule a more convenient time.

March 15th-Comp Day

On Friday, March 15th, we will have a comp day and there will be no school.

Maturation Presentation

Tuesday, March 19th will be our Maturation Presentation for all 5th and 6th grade students. More information will be coming about this. The 6th grade presentation will be at 1:00 and the 5th grade presentation will be at 2:00. The young men will meet in the auditorium and the young ladies will be in the library. Parents are encouraged to come!

BOOK FAIR AND BOOK FAIR EVENT! (Formally, Dads and Doughnuts!)

We are excited about our upcoming Book Fair! It will be from March 8-March 14th! We appreciate our PTA for sponsoring this! Our Book Fair Event, formally Dads and Doughnuts, will start us off for the Book Fair, and that will be Friday, March 8th at 7:30, and will end at 8:30. We hope you will all come out early that morning and have a doughnut and a cup of milk with your child! The Book Fair will be open during that time, as well as in the mornings before school and after school. It will also be open during SEP Conferences, March 14th.

PTA Meeting

Our next PTA Meeting will be this Tuesday, the 26th, at 2:00. We hope to see as many of you as we can to help plan great things for our school! The Book Fair is coming up and we all can help! Thanks for all you do to make our PTA great!

Please keep collecting your BOX TOPS! Bring them in to help our school out!

Unplug and Connect-How Electronics Impact the Human Brain

Parents, I want to let you know about a special presentation by Dr. Christy Kane, that will be held several times, throughout our district. Dr. Kane has done research on the neurological changes that take place in the developing brain due to the impact of electronics. I have heard Dr. Kane speak a couple of times and she is awesome! Her research is amazing and there is definitely information parents should be aware of. If you have time to go to one of these sessions, it will be well worth your time.
