Hello, Brockbank Families!

We want to thank our PTA for the wonderful work they put forth for our White Ribbon Week! It was a great success and there were many principles that were taught about making safe and appropriate decisions with Internet use.

We also had a great time at our BYU Basketball game! Our students were so well-behaved and I was so proud of the way they conducted themselves! It was such a great time!

During the week we also had a special visitor from the District Office. Dave Rowe, our Elementary Education Director, visited Brockbank. He told me after the visit that he felt so welcomed into each classroom, and that the teachers and students were so kind in making him feel appreciated for the things he does for our school! I am so proud of Brockbank and the great feeling that is here for people who visit our school!

SCIENCE FAIR WINNERS

Our 6th Grade students did a fantastic job at their Science Fair! They worked hard and had such cool exhibits! We want to congratulate those that will be going to the District Science Fair, that will be February 13th! We wish them the BEST of luck and know they will represent Brockbank well! They are: Jackson Bowen, Elizabeth Peterson, Kaylee Hales, Billy Bethers, Emmett Burns, Porter Olson, and Isabella Beecher, ( who entered as a 5th Grader!). Awesome job, students!

Service Learning Project-WOUNDED WARRIORS PROJECT

We are excited for our Service Learning Project that our Kid Power Committee has put together for the next three weeks at Brockbank! Our school is raising money for the Wounded Warriors Project. The money that we collect will go to those Veterans, who have fought so valiantly, and have had to face many trials due to injuries and hardships from serving in the military. Our goal is to earn $2000.00! There will be fun rewards for the grade levels that earn the most coins, however, pennies that are collected count against the total amount! That is where the fun comes in! Students can put pennies in other grade level jars, and those pennies will count against those grade levels' totals! So, students are encouraged to bring nickels, dimes, quarters, and even bills to put into their jars, and pennies to put into the other grade level jars! We appreciate your support and hope you will have your child work and do chores to earn money to bring to school for this wonderful cause!

Stakeholder's Survey

Parents, you should be receiving an email from the district that has a link to the Stakeholder's Survey. This survey helps us celebrate the great things our teachers and staff are doing! We have wonderful teachers and the positive feedback helps us all feel good about what we are doing, here at Brockbank. We also appreciate your concerns as parents, and can learn where we can improve to make Brockbank the BEST! I would also suggest that if you do have concerns to please come in and visit with me about them. It's always nice to know the reasoning and concerns that we may not see as parents do.

Unplug and Connect-How Electronics Impact the Human Brain

Parents, I want to let you know about a special presentation by Dr. Christy Kane, that will be held several times, throughout our district. Dr. Kane has done research on the neurological changes that take place in the developing brain due to the impact of electronics. I have heard Dr. Kane speak a couple of times and she is awesome! Her research is amazing and there is definitely information parents should be aware of. If you have time to go to one of these sessions, it will be well worth your time.
