Third Grade Students Perform Christmas Program

Submitted by brenda.johnson on

Brockbank third grade students all through the month of December filled the halls of the school with cheery Christmas music. On Wednesday, December 12, the third grade classes put on a Christmas program for the rest of the students and then that evening for their parents and families to enjoy. It is a great way to get in the Christmas spirit. The students did a great job!

First Grade Students Earn Polar Express Day

Submitted by brenda.johnson on

Brockbank Elementary first-graders got ready for the holiday season by having a Polar Express Day on Thursday, December 20. They earned this day by meeting their classroom reading goals. Each first-grade class had to fill their Polar Express train car and in order to accomplish this, each student had to read at least six books. As a reward for meeting this goal, students got to wear pajamas to school; make Polar Express trains out of HoHo's, starlight mints, and chocolate bells; make engineer hats out of paper. That afternoon they got to watch the movie, "Polar Express".

Kindergarten Students Make Gingerbread Man

Submitted by brenda.johnson on

Brockbank kindergarten classes read books about "Gingerbread Men". For a class activity they made a big gingerbread man and decorated it. When they went to get the cookie out of the oven to eat it, he was gone. The gingerbread man had left the students clues around the school of where to find him. Finding the clues helped the students become more familiar with the school.

Cards for the Troops

Submitted by brenda.johnson on
Mrs. Kristen Andersen, art teacher at Brockbank had students make cards for the troops. It is hard for members of the military to be deployed overseas during the holiday season. To help them during this difficult time, students made cards to let the troops know that we are thinking about them and appreciate their sacrifices.

Brockbank Faculty and Staff Participate in the Second Annual Gingerbread House Competition

Submitted by brenda.johnson on

To help everyone get in the Christmas spirit Brockbank's faculty and staff competed in the second annual gingerbread competition. The students decide the winner by voting for the gingerbread house they think is the best. Students each receive one vote placing their vote in one of the numbered tubs. Names will then be drawn out of each of the tubs and a lucky student whose name is drawn will get that gingerbread house to take home.

Hello, Brockbank Families!

There is certainly an excitement in the air with Christmas just around the corner!  We have many fun things planned during the next two weeks that will be awesome for our students!

We appreciate our PTA for putting up the "Giving Trees" by each teacher's door.  These trees have ornaments on them with specific things/ideas for your child's teacher, if you are needing ideas for a gift for your child to give to his/her teacher!  If you are interested in doing this, just take an ornament from the tree.
