Apple Day in Kindergarten

Submitted by brenda.johnson on

Recently, Kindergarten students at Brockbank Elementary celebrated Apple Day at school. The students participated in several different activities including tasting apples in several different forms; cut in slices, applesauce, pie, and juice; deciding which color of apple they like best, doing math and science activities involving apples, and illustrating their own apple books. It was a fun educational day that the students enjoyed.

Hello, Brockbank Families!

Thanks so much for your help and patience as we kept our children in because of the poor air quality.  It was hard for the students to stay inside for those few days and we were so grateful to be able to go outside towards the end of the week.  Please be assured that we will continue to watch the quality alerts!

We will continue to keep tabs on the air quality and will take precautions with letting your child go outside for recess and other activities.

Brockbank first-graders read the book, "Enemy Pie" written by Derek Munson about a boy whose summer is ruined when Jeremy Ross moves in and becomes number one on the enemy list. Fortunately, for the boy his father has a secret recipe for a pie that is guaranteed to help get rid of enemies. While his Dad works on mixing the ingredients and baking the pie, he explains that his son's role in the plan is that he needs to spend a day with his enemy. Even worse, he has to be nice to him. It sounds tough, but the boy decides to give it a try.
