Friday, August 29, Brockbank had two representatives, Kirsten Berezay and Baromwyn Maier, from the Utah Water Van program come to visit. The Utah Water Van is an educational outreach program about Utah's wetlands and is offered by The Living Planet Aquarium to fourth-grade students throughout Utah. Fourth-grade students are allowed through the use of models, to see and better understand the importance of Utah's wetlands and about some of Utah's native wetland plants and animals.
As a reward for good behavior and also for a good cause, Mr. Greg Hunt, a third grade teacher at Brockbank did the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge with the help of some of his third graders. He was challenged by his cousin and thought it would be fun to involve his class. The students enjoyed watching their teacher get ice water dumped on him.
Brockbank School sincerely appreciates the generous donation of school supplies from JCPenney Logistics (the catalog portion of JCPenney). They are housed here in Spanish Fork and wanted to help out a local school. The employees have been working all month to donate school supplies. At the end of the month, they held a drawing and employee Raelyn Mulder was drawn out. As the winner, she got to select which Spanish Fork area school she would like the donations to go to. Her good friend had children recently attend Brockbank and had such a good experience, she selected our school.
