Lisa Bird is this year's recipient of the Horace Mann Crystal Apple Award. Lisa has been teaching at Brockbank for 14 years, all in first grade.  Lisa lives in Spanish Fork and has two sons, two daughters, two sons in law, two daughters in law, two grandsons and two granddaughters.

Lisa truly  loves her students and goes the extra mile to make them feel cared for.  When you pass her class you will most likely hear them singing one of the many songs she has taught them.  Lisa also enjoys coming up with fun and unique ways to teach her students through games, crafts, and of course songs.
Anyone who knows Lisa knows that she enjoys taking care of others.  She is always bringing food to share with other teachers at lunch.  If anyone needs help with a project Lisa is the first to volunteer.  She also knows her first aid.  She has helped many students and teachers; from paper cuts to broken arms.
Lisa is also an extremely hard worker.  She spends many evenings and weekends at school planning and preparing her lessons.

Congratulations Lisa! She is very deserving of this award.  We are so lucky to have her as a part of our staff.
