Dear Brockbank Families,

Good Evening!   As you might be aware the Governor has just announced a soft closure for schools for the next two weeks.  We'll be sending information and protocols to you as we move forward, but at this point we will NOT be holding regular school and classes starting Monday, March 16th.    All school events for this next week such as Parent Conferences and our Book Fair are cancelled  (we'll communicate any changes with  these events as they become available).   The district is preparing for our schools to provide instruction through an online distance learning tool (instructions and steps to access this will be forthcoming) and hard copy learning packets.  Learning and instruction will continue over these next two weeks.

In preparation for this instruction, we are asking that you evaluate your need at home for devices in order to access the online learning for your child should your child's teacher choose to go this route for instruction.   We will have chrome books available here at school for you to checkout over the duration of the closure (we'll let you know how and when to pick up any needed devices).

For those with limited or no internet at home we’ll be providing learning packets that can be picked up here at the school.  There is a possibility to use mobile hot spots for Internet (more to be forth coming).

School food services will still be providing breakfast and lunch.  This will begin Monday, March 16th.  We will be sending more information as to how you will let us know if your child will need a school lunch.  We will NOT  need to know if your child will need breakfast.  The breakfast and lunch that will be provided will be a "grab and go" type of lunch.  Students will not be staying to eat breakfast or lunch.

Monday and Tuesday our teachers and staff will be preparing, planning, organizing lessons and instruction.  We will be communicating out to our families and gathering and sending out needed information.   We will look for a launch date of Wednesday to begin providing classes/learning through our distance learning tool and packets.

Thank you for your support and understanding through these unprecedented times.  I'm confident in the abilities and talents of our amazing Brockbank staff and we will do all we can to teach and serve our students.   I also recognize the challenges and hardships this brings for our community and families.   It is my hope that we can reach out, look to serve, and help one another.  I believe this can bring us closer as a Brockbank Family.   You're the BEST!

Mrs. Nelson
