Hello, Brockbank Families!

This week is going to be a busy one and we are excited for all of the things that are going on here, at Brockbank!

We also appreciate your support for our Book Fair Event that was last Friday! It is always fun to see our students with the people in their lives that are so important to them! Thanks to our awesome PTA for taking care of the Book Fair and the Book Fair Event!

Wounded Warrior Fundraiser

Our students were able to earn $977.47 for the Wounded Warrior Program. We appreciate your support for this program. Our students were excited to bring in their donations, and especially to put pennies into other grade level jars to hopefully count against their amount! A special thanks to Mrs. Jensen and our Kid Power Committee for taking on this project!

BOOK FAIR

The PTA Book Fair is going on NOW! It is open 30 minutes before school and 30 minutes after school. It will also be open during SEP Conferences, March 14th. Please remember that the Book Fair is now charging sales tax on purchases. We appreciate our PTA Parents that are working so hard to bring this Book Fair to our students!

SEP Conferences

We will have our last SEP Conference on Thursday, March 14th. We love these conferences when we can take time to celebrate your child's accomplishments! Your child will be bringing home a note with your scheduled time. If that time does not work, please indicate on the note and your child's teacher will reschedule a more convenient time.

March 15th-Comp Day

On Friday, March 15th, we will have a comp day and there will be no school.

WE ARE LUCKY TO HAVE OUR STUDENTS WEEK!

March 18th-March 22nd will be a celebration for our students! Brockbank feels so lucky to have our students, and we want to recognize them for the great kids that they are! Our PTA is again helping with this week and have some fun things planned:

Monday-pancakes breakfast and PJs! (Students may wear their pajamas to school!)

Tuesday-Students will get a treat from the PTA!

Wednesday-Students wear lucky socks!

Thursday-Students receive a pencil!

Friday-Hat Day! (Students will be able to wear hats to school!)

Maturation Presentation

Tuesday, March 19th will be our Maturation Presentation for all 5th and 6th grade students. More information will be coming about this. The 6th grade presentation will be at 1:00 and the 5th grade presentation will be at 2:00. The young men will meet in the auditorium and the young ladies will be in the library. Parents are encouraged to come!

Kindergarten Registration Update

There has been a change with Kindergarten Registration! We will NOT be having an early pre-registration for kindergarten as we have in the past. Kindergarten Registration will be at the same time as our regular registration for all students that is normally done in the summer. More information with this announcement will be coming.

PTA Meeting

Our next PTA Meeting will be this Tuesday, the 26th, at 2:00. We hope to see as many of you as we can to help plan great things for our school! The Book Fair is coming up and we all can help! Thanks for all you do to make our PTA great!

Unplug and Connect-How Electronics Impact the Human Brain

Parents, I want to let you know about a special presentation by Dr. Christy Kane, that will be held several times, throughout our district. Dr. Kane has done research on the neurological changes that take place in the developing brain due to the impact of electronics. I have heard Dr. Kane speak a couple of times and she is awesome! Her research is amazing and there is definitely information parents should be aware of. If you have time to go to one of these sessions, it will be well worth your time.
