Dear Brockbank Families!

The countdown begins!  One week of summer vacation is left and one week until we have our school back to the way it should be--full of students!  It's been a great summer and I hope you have been able to do some special things with family and friends!

We are so excited for this upcoming year!  Mr. Clark, our great custodian, has our school sparkling clean, and our sensational teachers have been working hard to get their rooms ready for the new year! As you will see, we are getting a new Marquee, thanks to our awesome PTA, and to YOU, for sending BoxTops!  We will also be getting a new flag pole and we have had a couple of Eagle Scouts, who are working to make our school beautiful and safe!

This year we are introducing a new motto and mission statement for our school!  Our motto is:  Bronco BEST!  Rise Above the Rest!  Our mission statement is,  "At Brockbank We are Building a Community that Cares, Engaging in Lifelong Learning, Setting Goals for Growth and Success, and Taking Ownership for My choices!"  We will be doing a lot of activities that will help us learn our new motto and mission statement this year!

This Monday, August 21st, from 4:00-6:00 pm will be our Open House!  We invite you to come with your child and celebrate the BEST year ever!  You are welcome to do the following:

*Meet your new child's teacher-get important info for the upcoming year

*Sign up for PTA!

*Buy a school T-shirt

*Sign up for SEP conferences (this will be done on Sign-Up Genius in your child's classroom)

*Those interested may apply for School Community Council

*Get a school magnet

*Take a look at an after school robotics program

We are excited to see you all that afternoon!

School will then begin the following day, Tuesday, August 22nd at 8:45-3:00!

Please help your child know the route he/she takes to school--bus numbers, safe walking routes, where to meet his/her ride, etc.

Also, please talk with your child about walking safely home and to stay on the sidewalks, only cross the street with a crossing guard, and to stay in groups as he/she walks home.

Thank you so much for all you do!  We love your child and we look forward to a great year!  Thank you for your patience through our online registration! We appreciate your cooperation and help in completing that!

Our teachers come back to school tomorrow, Wednesday, August 16th, and we will all be involved in meetings, so our office will only be opened from 2:00-4:00 pm. If you have any questions or concerns, please call during those hours, or Thursday from 8:00-1:00

Thanks for everything and enjoy this last week of summer!

Mrs. Nelson
