Kindergarteners Enjoy Teddy Bear Day

Brockbank kindergarteners recently held their, "Bring your Teddy Bear to school day". Students had the opportunity to bring their favorite teddy bear or other stuffed animal to school to spend the day in class learning and playing with them.  When it was time for the students to go home, the teddy bears got to stay and have a slumber party at school. The next day when the students came to school they found out that their animals had made a mess in their classroom.

Brockbank Students Pledge to be Unplugged for a Day!

Allison Isaac is running for Miss Spanish Fork and her project is to get students in our community unplugged for one whole day. Instead of playing with their electronic devices she is encouraging students to do other things and taking a pledge to do so.  Wednesday, March 18, will be "We Play Wednesday". This challenge is for everyone to put away all electronic devices for the whole day.  That includes computers,IPods, cell phones, TVs, Nintendo, etc. Go on an adventure! Use your imagination! See how creative you can be!

Brockbank PTA Holds Annual Spring "Dads & Donuts" to Kick-Off Book Fair!

Friday, March 13, Brockbank Elementary held  "Dads and Donuts", hosted by the PTA to kick-off the annual spring book fair. Students, along with their dads, moms, grandparents, or other special family members were able to come and browse for books through the book fair and then enjoy a donut. Thank you to the PTA for sponsoring this fun morning! 

Members of SFJH's Band Visit Brockbank Sixth Graders

The Spanish Fork Junior High School Band visited Brockbank Elementary sixth-graders to get them excited so they will want to take band next year in junior high. Mr. Matthew Wendell, the band teacher, explained the all the different instruments to the six-grade students . The junior high students played a musical piece for the sixth graders. Some of the band members are former Brockbank students and it was great to see them. 

 

 

SFJH's Orchestra Students Play for Brockbank Sixth-Graders

Recently students from the Spanish Fork Junior High School Orchestra visited the sixth-graders at Brockbank. Ms. Angela Harman, the orchestra teacher, explained the program and explained all the different instruments to the six-grade students . The junior high students played musical pieces that they have been practicing. Several of the orchestra members are former Brockbank students. Sixth-graders now get to decide if they want to take orchestra or band.

Brockbank Students Motivated to Read by Champions Rodeo Reading Challenge

Spanish Fork is hosting the 2015 Wrangler Champions Challenge Rodeo for the second year on Saturday, May 30 at the Spanish Fork Fairgrounds. To help promote the rodeo and at the same time to encourage students to read, the city is offering a Champions Challenge Reading Contest. Bull fighter, Randy Munns, 2014 Fiesta Days Rodeo Queen, Jessica Ivie, along with city officials came to Brockbank to entertain the students in a fun assembly and get them excited to read and gave them a little background information about rodeos.

Brockbank's PTA Appreciates Support by Awarding Students with a Fun Activity!

Brockbank's PTA recently held a donation fundraiser, and even though they didn't quite reach their goal they didn't want to disappointed the students. In a fun assembly, five lucky ladies (good sports), who earned the most votes by the students received a pie in the face by a member of the sixth-grade student council. Those receiving pies in the face were former Principal Alison Hansen, second grade teacher - Mrs. Louise Crook, sixth-grade teacher - Mrs. JaNae Wilson, Principal Larraine Nelson and art & music teacher - Mrs. Brenda Dudley.

Brockbank's "Take Time for School Breakfast" Coloring Contest Winners!

March 2-6  was National School Breakfast Week, "Take Time for School Breakfast". National School Breakfast Week is all about educating students, parents, and the community about the benefits of healthy school breakfast. Brockbank's lunch department held a contest were students could draw a picture and submit it. Winners were first place - Milo Jakins and Kiera Adams, Second place - Ayden Fackrell and Shelby Lunt, and third place - Gage Osborn and Kadence Grever. 

Brockbank's Book Fair is Coming!

Brockbank is excited about our upcoming Book Fair which will kick off next Friday, March 13 with our annual Dads and Donuts! Make sure to bring your dad, mom, grandpa, grandma or any special family member on Friday morning from 7:45-8:00 AM to browse through the book fair and enjoy a donut.  The book fair will run the following week March 16-19 before school, during lunch, and after school and all evening Thursday night during SEP conferences. The book fair will close Thursday evening.
