To all our Brockbank students!

I hope you will all remember how much fun we have had reading in the library this year! I don't want you to have to miss a beat! While I wish each and every one of you could be in the library this week, we have a great alternative! I highly suggest using Sora, Nebo's app for reading online. I know for so many of us books are the magic that help us to go on new adventures, learn something new, connect with others, as well as relax and enjoy the world around us.

The Sora app is easy to access from a computer, chromebook, or other electronic device. Simply go to Sora and sign in. If it is your first time visiting, sometimes you have to search for your school. If you get asked to do this, look for Brockbank Elementary School. Then click "this is my school!" You will then be given the option to select whether you are a student or a staff member. If you click staff, and enter your email and password, it won't let you on. Because you are a student! So please double-check you select student. At this point, you will need to enter your nebo email address and the same password you get on your email and the chromebooks with.

Once you are on the Sora homescreen, you are free to look for books and check them out! If you are not TOTALLY sure you want a book, please click "read sample" before checking it out. If you check out a book you have NO interest in, and immediately return it, it still counts as one checkout. Certain books (as decided by the publisher) are called metered use books. After 24 checkouts, those books have to be purchased again digitally. So please consider the sample option, if you aren't sure you are looking at a book that you will enjoy.

Most of all, take some time each day to relax, read, remember how happy it makes all of us to have you as our students.

And if you have any questions about the process, please email me at becca.jensen [at] nebo.edu (becca[dot]jensen[at]nebo[dot]edu) and I will respond as soon as I can.

"A book is a book when all by itself
when it's closed and flat, alone on the shelf.
If, and only if, you don't care to look,
then, and only then, will it just be a book."
