Brockbank First-Graders Read, "Turkey Trouble"

Submitted by brenda.johnson on

Brockbank first-graders recently finished reading the book, "Turkey Trouble" written by Wendi J. Silvano. In the story a turkey is in trouble, bad trouble, it is almost Thanksgiving and he is the main course. Farmer Jake is looking for him. Turkey has an idea what if he doesn't look like a turkey? What if he looks like another animal instead? First-graders then got to use their imaginations and pick a disguise for Turkey so Farmer Jake won't recognize him.

Ben Hansen picked a teacher for his Turkey. He said on his paper, "I could be a teacher. I could talk. Be Quiet, Be Quiet, said the Turkey. Oh! said the farmer. It must be a teacher."

Kobe Healey picked Kobe Bryant for his Turkey. He said, "I could be Kobe Bryant. I could play basketball. Shoot, Shoot, said the Turkey.
Oh! said the farmer. It must be a basketball player."

Parker Coe picked a tomato plant for her Turkey. She said, "I could be a tomato plant. I could hold a real tomato. Sway, Sway, said the Turkey. Oh! said the farmer. It must be a tomato plant."

Emma Hathaway picked a cheetah for her turkey. She said, "I could be a Cheetah. I could run fast as I can. Roar, Roar, said the Turkey. Oh! said the farmer. It must be a Cheetah."
