Brockbank first-graders recently finished reading the book, "Turkey Trouble" written by Wendi J. Silvano. In the story a turkey is in trouble, bad trouble, it is almost Thanksgiving and he is the main course. Farmer Jake is looking for him. Turkey has an idea what if he doesn't look like a turkey? What if he looks like another animal instead? First-graders then got to use their imaginations and pick a disguise for Turkey so Farmer Jake won't recognize him.

AddaLee Williams picked a strawberry for her turkey. She said on her paper, "I could be a strawberry. I could lay in the sun. "Sh Sh," said the turkey. "Oh!" said the farmer. "It must be a strawberry."

Stela Youd picked a cat for her turkey. She said, "I could be a cat. I could sit. "Meow Meow" said the turkey. "Oh!" said the farmer. "It must be a cat."

Stetson Parker picked a spider for his turkey. He said, "I could be a spider. I could hang. "Sh Sh", said the turkey. "Oh!" said the farmer. "It must be a spider."

Bridger Olson picked a lizard for his turkey. He said, "I could be a lizard. I could lay in the sun. "sh, sh" said the turkey. "Oh!" said the farmer. "It must be a lizard."
