Hello, Brockbank Families!

I want to congratulate our 6th grade students for their Science Fair presentations!  They were spectacular and I appreciate all that our 6th grade teachers did to help get that ready!  We want to recognize those students that are moving on to the district level!  They are Caden Shock, Kyzlee Hair, Rylee Beus, Tanner Terry, Tyson Rich, Emmalyse Beecher and Junior Wetzel!  Awesome job!

Also, last week we had the opportunity to have a Repertory Dance Company come and perform for our school!  All of the students were able to dance at one point in the assembly, and a few students were called on stage to dance with the performers!  It was a lot of fun to have them come to Brockbank!

PTA Meeting: Our PTA monthly meeting will be tomorrow, Tuesday, February 13th, at 9:00am.  We are needing your support and your help!  Please come and see how you can help our school through PTA!  There are so many great benefits from joining PTA and being involved with our school!  We need your leadership, you talents, your help, so please come and be a part of PTA!

Valentine’s Day: We are excited for Valentine’s Day and know the students will enjoy this fun holiday!  Please watch for information from your child as  to what activities he/she will be involved in with his/her class!

Penny Wars:  Feb 20 – March 9
KIDS have the power to make a positive difference.  Please join the Kid Power committee at Brockbank Elementary to change the world.  Our project this year is to help the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation find a cure for Type 1 Diabetes.  This is the type that mostly affects children.  There are children in our school that deal with this disease.
Each grade will bring money to donate. All paper and silver coins in their cans will count for that grades total.  All the pennies put in that grade level can, will subtract from their total.  So put pennies in another classes can to stop them from beating your grade.  Put the silver and paper money in your class can to increase your total.  This is called a Penny War.  Our penny war will help find a cure for juvenile Diabetes.
We will start our project on February 20th and go through March 9th.  The grade level with the heaviest can on Feb 23 will get to have a dance party.  The grade level with the heaviest can on March 2 will get to run someone through their whip cream gauntlet.  The grade level that raises the most money by March 9 will get to have a flour bomb war.  This war is for good and we will have a lot of fun.  Start earning money to make a difference.

Stake Holder’s Survey:  You should have received an email about the stake holder’s survey.  If not, please know that you can access that survey on the Nebo Website.  Please take this survey so that we can celebrate those things that are going well at Brockbank and also correct or take note of concerns that you have.  Your opinion is very valuable and we want to address these comments with our faculty, PTA and School Community Council.  If you have concerns, I would love to have you come in and help problem solve those issues for our school.

Popcorn Friday will be this Friday!  50 cents a bag!  Thanks to our awesome PTA!

Math Lab:  Just a reminder that we have our Math Lab opened in the mornings before school, at 8:30.  Any student is welcome to come and practice math facts, use the online REFLEX program, or get help with math assignments!
