Hello, Brockbank Families!

October is such a busy, exciting month! There are many things going on and we look forward to each one of them!

Thanks for sending in all your Box Tops!  They help our school so much and we appreciate Lisa Dunn and Brandy Mascher for motivating the students to bring them in!

School Fundraiser: October 11th will be our school fundraiser, which will be a FUN RUN!  Your child should have brought home a pledge sheet today!  (Morning Kindergarten will receive the pledge sheets tomorrow)  We will be going around to each classroom to explain a little more to the students.  Students can collect money for a flat amount, or get pledges for each lap completed!  Parents are welcome to come and walk with their child.  We will have 4th, 5th, 6th, and kindergarten grades in the morning, and 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and kindergarten grades in the afternoon.  Checks or cash will gladly be accepted, no online payments will be available this year.

District Survey:  You should have or will be receiving an email asking you to participate in a district survey.  This survey is to get your input on important matters with the upcoming bond.  Please take a minute and fill that out so that your voice can be heard.  Thanks so much!

Superintendent’s Meeting: You are invited to attend a meeting with Superintendent, Rick Nielsen.  The Superintendent holds a meeting twice a year where he invites the public to discuss district plans, policies, and the future of Nebo School District.  These meetings are very informative and worth attending if possible!  It will be October 5th, at Maple Mountain High School, at 4:00.

Learning Through Robotics:  Our school is offering a Robotics class for students in 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th grades, that will be held after school, every Thursday, for 9 weeks.  This will be a great class where the students will be doing many hands-on activities with robots that they will build!  We will be sending home a flyer with information about this fun, innovative class.  It will be $45.00, and will begin Thursday, October 5th.  It will be first come, first serve and we will begin having students sign up for the class on Wed., Sept. 27th, in the office.  Please make your checks payable to Brockbank Elementary.  We will only be able to carry the class if enough participants sign up!

Reflections Contest:  The theme for the Reflections Contest is “Within Reach.”  Students are encouraged to create something in one or more of the various art forms; dance, video, writing, music, photography and art.  The entries are due October 24th.  Cindy Shepherd is over this and we appreciate her help!  Encourage your child to get involved in this fun, creative experience!

Popcorn Friday:  October 13th will be our first Popcorn Friday.  The bags of popcorn will be 50 cents a bag!

Dads and Doughnuts: October 18th will be our fun Dads and Doughnuts activity!  We invite you to bring your child and kick off the Book Fair with this fun event.

Fall Break: October 19-20!  Enjoy!

Book Fair: Our PTA Book Fair will be scheduled for October 18th, then the 23rd-26th.  We appreciate your support for the Book Fair, and appreciate all the hard work the PTA does in getting this ready!

SEP Conferences: October 26th, from 3:00-8:30, will be our SEP Conferences.  If you did not sign up for a time for the conference at the Open House, please go to the school website and sign up for a time that would work best for you.

Upstart:  The Upstart program is a free pre-school for qualifying students, age 4 years old.  It is a great way to get your child started on the right track and ready for kindergarten!  Your child should have brought home a flyer about this wonderful program.

We invite you to LIKE us on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, as well as our own Brockbank website!  Follow us on Instagram--#Brockbankbest, #Lookatbrockbank, and #BrockbankBFF

Thanks for being the BEST!
