Hello, Brockbank Families!

This week is Red Ribbon Week and we look forward to a lot of great activities that will help us to remember to make good choices and live a healthy lifestyle!  Here is what we have planned for each day:

Tuesday:  Wear purple!  OUR SCHOOL RULES-I TUNE OUT VIOLENCE!

Wednesday:  Wear anything that represents a Super Hero!  I HAVE THE POWER TO BE DRUG FREE!

Thursday:  Wear any type of sports gear (hats are allowed this day) WINNERS DON’T DO DRUGS!

Friday:  Wear any type of hometown hero clothing, (police, fire, military, nurse, etc., clothing) or blue and burgundy, our school colors!  JOIN THE FIGHT AGAINST DRUGS AND VIOLENCE!

SAFETY ISUUES:  We are having some issues after school with students staying and playing on the North playground.  We do not have supervision there and we need you to encourage your child to head straight home when the bell rings.  If you are picking your child up, please be on time as we will not have the students in the play area waiting. If the teacher on duty at the parking lot finishes up, she/he will bring those children in the school and they will be waiting at the front office.  Also, we need students to cross the streets at the intersections.  We are seeing students and parents dart in between parked cars to the other side of the road.  We need everyone to use the intersection to cross the street.

4th Grade Program:  The 4th grade students will perform their program on Tuesday, November 15th at 6:00pm in the auditorium!  We are excited to see their performance!

Parents of 5th Grade Students:  In May we are going to have a very special day called, Walk for a Life.    On this day we will be going to Volunteer Park in Spanish Fork and learning about Veterans and recognizing the amazing sacrifices they made for us.  Each 5th grade student will be receiving a dog tag.  The Veterans that we are working with have given us the opportunity to have the students choose a name of a family member/close friend or relative that is or was a Veteran, to be placed on his/her dog tag.  Your child’s teacher will be sending home a note for you to list the Veteran’s name and branch of Military Service that you would like on your child’s dog tag.  This is optional, and you do not need to send back the note if you do not have a name to go on the dog tag.  However, every child will still get a dog tag.   These notes are due back to your child’s teacher by Wednesday, Novemeber 30th

Thanksgiving Break:  There will be no school on Wednesday, November 23-Friday, November 25th.  Enjoy the break!

Math Lab:  Our math lab is now available each morning!  We will open the doors to the library at 8:30, and we will have 2 technicians that will be there to help students with math homework.  Please take advantage of this help for your child!

Thanks for all of your help!  We appreciate all you do!
