Hello, Brockbank Families!

WOW!  It's unbelievable that this is the last week of school!  Time has flown by and it is always hard to end the school year!  I hope you have some great plans for the summer that include family and friends!

Last week we celebrated the 6th Grade Graduation for our wonderful 6th Grade students! I'm so proud of them and the accomplishments they have made!  They are great students and will go on to do awesome things!

We look forward to a few fun things this week!  Thursday we will have our field day, thanks to our Sixth grade classes and their teachers!  It will be a great day!  Then on Friday, we will have our traditional swimming activity at the Spanish Fork Swimming Pool. Please make sure your child comes prepared with swimming attire, a towel, and a jacket or warm clothing to come home in.  We never know what the weather will be like!  Just as a reminder, bus students will come back to the school by 11:30 to catch the buses, and the walking students will be back to the school by 12:00 to be dismissed from school.  IF your child is a bus student and he/she would like to stay at the pool with the walking students, you will need to sign the note that will be coming home to you, to give him/her permission.  STUDENTS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO STAY AT THE POOL UNLESS THEY HAVE THIS SIGNED NOTE.

We are excited about our summer reading program that will help students "POP" into reading!  Your child should have brought home a packet with information about our summer reading and required minutes.  If your child reaches the goal, he/she will be able to have our POP party to celebrate his/her reading!  I am also sending an attachment so you can review it if you did not get the packet!  We hope all the students will participate in this reading program and make it a goal to read!  It will help them so much for the beginning of next year!

There is also an attachment about a summer lunch program that will be at the SF library.  Please read that carefully and see what is available for your child!

Please be aware of any outstanding balances with the lunch department, the library, or the take home library that you may owe the school and get those taken care of before Friday.

We still have a few openings left for summer school if you are interested.  These sessions will be Tuesdays and Thursdays.  You can fill out the form in the office.

Our summer hours for the school will be Monday-Thursday, 9:00-2:00.  If for some reason the school will be closed, we will put it on the web and post it on the front door.

Tomorrow, we will have our last BFF activity!  These have been a very positive program for our school.  The students have learned many important life skills, such as being a positive part of a group or family, making good choices, how to be empowered and walk away from inappropriate behavior, accepting responsibility for your actions and being willing to face the consequences, putting first things first, how to be patriotic, how to serve, and how to be healthy emotionally, mentally, and physically.  We will be having a celebration to think about all these great things that we have learned!  I hope you will have discussions with your child about these topics and help them remember them over the summer!

I can’t thank you enough for YOU sharing your child with us, here at Brockbank!  I love it here and I love the children!  Our staff is outstanding and they care so much for each student.  It is a wonderful thing to belong to such a hard-working, caring, and kind community.  I look forward to a great summer, but then to another super year here, at Brockbank!  Thank you so much!

Mrs. Nelson
