HELLO, BROCKBANK FAMILIES!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BROCKBANK! Brockbank is 61 years old and we are so excited to be
celebrating this birthday!
We had fun today in our fifties attire with greased back hair and poodle skirts! The rest of the week will go as follows:

Tuesday-”Let Music Fill Your Heart For Brockbank!”
Wear something comfortable so you can dance and sing!
Wednesday-”Tip Your Hat to Brockbank!”
Wear a fun hat to school!
Thursday-”Dream What You Can Be!”
Wear PJs to school!
Friday-Spirit Day!
Wear your Brockbank Spirit shirts or school colors!
Thanks to our PTA Room Parents for bringing a birthday treat on Friday!

LAST WEEK FOR QUARTER WARS!
Congrats to 3rd Grade for winning the first week's challenge! They will get a popcorn party!

The last day for Quarter Wars will be this Friday! Please give what you can and let's help
Shiners Hospital:
KID POWER HOSTS FUNDRAISER FOR SHRINERS HOSPITAL
This year the students of Brockbank Elementary would like to use their power to make a
difference in the world. Shriners Hospitals serve children with medical needs regardless of their ability to pay.

We are having a “Quarter War”. This means that students are encouraged to bring money for
our fundraiser. All quarters take away points from a team. All other money adds points to a
team. For example, students can put dollars in their grade’s can, which will give them points,
and quarters in the other grade’s cans to take points. We will have a friendly competition
between grades to see who can raise the most money to help. We will receive donations Jan
11- 29th.
Week 1= The grade with the heaviest can will earn their choice of a “Just Dance” Party or a
our bomb war.
Week 2 = The grade with the most weight gained in their can will win a popcorn party.
Week 3 = The grade with the most points will earn a “surprise” party.
Quarter = - 25 Dollar = +1.00 etc.
We encourage your child to find ways to earn money and donate to help another child. It is good for children to see themselves as a “GIVER” as someone who has something to offer and makes something happen. Please help your student participate in this opportunity.

HELP US HELP CHILDREN!!!!

LOVE AND LOGIC PARENTING WORKSHOP

Nebo School District is presenting a Love and Logic Parenting Workshop! This will be online-
via ZOOM! The workshops will be January 12th, 19th and 26th, from 6:00-7:30. There is more information on the attachment given.

PLEASE, NO OTHER DRINKS THAN WATER!
AND...A FEW OTHER IMORTANT
REMINDERS!
*Please have your child only bring water in his/her water bottle. Please do not send juice, pop,
or Gatorade. Since we are eating in our classrooms, we have had quite a few spills and it is
making a mess on the carpets. Thanks!
*We are having quite a number of students that are forgetting their masks. We have masks
available, but it is costing us quite a bit to purchase them. Please make sure your child has a
clean, cloth mask each day when he/she comes to school.
*Please make sure your child has a warm coat for these cold days!

VALENTINES
This year, Valentine's Day will be on Sunday, so we will be celebrating it on Friday, February
12th. Because of COVID we will be doing it a little differently We would like your child to bring his/her Valentines on Tuesday, February 9th. We will store them until Friday, February 12th, when they will be passed out to the children. We hope this timeline will provide safety in exchanging the Valentines. Please remember that if you choose to send a treat, it needs to be store bought and individually wrapped. If students bring their Valentines on Thursday or Friday, the Valentines will need to be stored at the school until Monday, then be given out.

Your child's teacher will also be sending home detailed information for her class.

STUDENT SAFETY
Thank you, parents, for following the laws and for driving slowly and carefully when picking up
your child. I see parents slowing down and being considerate of other drivers while picking up
students.
Please also be aware of the following:
*Please do not flip a U-Turn on 300 West. In the morning or afternoon, there are too many students that are walking and crossing the streets, and too many parents driving in and out of the school grounds, that this is an unsafe practice. Please follow the laws!

*Please cross at the intersections and do not have your child cross with you in the middle of
the road. Please be an example of safety!
*If you park in the parking lot, please get out of your car and go and wait for your child so
he/she is not crossing alone in front of buses and cars.
