HELLO, BROCKBANK FAMILIES!
We certainly had a change in the weather today! It's a good reminder to please send a warm
coat with your child to school! Please label it as well! If the weather permits, we will be going
outside, so students will most likely need a warm coat!
This week our BFF theme focuses on the E in our BEST message-Engage in Lifelong Learning!
We are talking about continually learning as we grow! We want students to have the desire to
learn on their own! Please talk to your child about what you are interested in and how you
continually learn!

SEP CONFERENCES-THURSDAY! PLEASE
CALL THE OFFICE TO SCHEDULE A TIME
IF YOU HAVE NOT ALREADY.
This Thursday, October 29th, will be our SEP Conferences.
*The links for signing up have been taken from the school website. If you still need to sign up,
please call the office to make an appontment-801-798-4025.

*These conferences will take place via ZOOM!
*Each teacher will send his/her specific ZOOM link to you for the conference. Please watch for those as it gets closer to the 29th. If you have not used ZOOM before, you may want to try this link and set up your account.

*When you sign in for the SEP Conference, you will be in a "waiting room." Your child's teacher
will let you in when he/she is ready.

*If you have more than one child, please do not sign up for back to back times. Please allow
yourself at least 10 minutes between each conference.
*Your child's teacher will be sending home your child's report card and possibly other
work/reports for your child. Make sure you have these reports with you for the conference.
If you would rather come in person and visit with your child's teacher, you will need to contact
him/her and make a separate appointment. Thank you!

SCHOOL PICTURES
Life Touch sent some classes their school pictures but not all classes. They are checking on
this. Also, they printed class pictures before retakes, which may not have included the entire
class. After speaking to them, they will reprint the class pictures after retakes, which is
November 12th. Then, they will verify names, pictures, spelling, etc., and get the correct class
pictures to ALL students. Thank you for your patience with this matter!

BOX TOPS
I hope you are all filling in the bright green Box Top form with lots of Box Tops! Our awesome PTA is challenging our students to bring these forms back to school, filled up, by October 26th.

Box Tops help our school earn money for great things, like our water fountains, that also
fill up water bottles. Box Top money helped purchase the marquee! Thanks to our PTA for ways to support our students!

HALLOWEEN DRESS UP
This year grades 1-6 will celebrate Halloween on October 29th. Kindergarten classes will
celebrate Wednesday, October 28th. We will not be having a parade and our teachers will be in
charge of any type of party/activities. Our wonderful PTA will be brining in a special treat for
our little goblins!
Please remember our policy for costumes:
*No blood or gore
*No weapons
*No scary, bloody, vulgar costumes
*No Halloween masks-just our safe, cloth masks
*Face paint is fine, but please help out your child where he/she will be wearing a mask-it may get messy for him/her.

*Dress policy is still mandated.

A FEW REMINDERS
*We are having quite a number of students that are forgetting their masks. Please make sure
your child has a clean, cloth mask each day when he/she comes to school.
*Please remember that if you bring lunch to your child that you need to bring lunch just for
your child. With this pandemic, we cannot share pizza, or other lunches.
*Please have your child only bring water in his/her water bottle. Please do not send juice, pop,
or Gatorade.

STUDENT SAFETY
Thank you, parents, for following the laws and for driving slowly and carefully when picking up
your child. I see parents slowing down and being considerate of other drivers while picking up
students.
Please also be aware of the following:
*Please do not flip a U-Turn on 300 West. In the morning or afternoon, there are too many students that are walking and crossing the streets, and too many parents driving in and out of the school grounds, that this is an unsafe practice. Please follow the laws!

*Please cross at the intersections and do not have your child cross with you in the middle of
the road. Please be an example of safety!
*If you park in the parking lot, please get out of your car and go and wait for your child so
he/she is not crossing alone in front of buses and cars.
