Hello, Brockbank Families!

Our last week of school, and what a year it has been. I can't thank you enough for all you have done to make At Home Learning so successful. I know it has been a very hard experience and we all appreciate the efforts that you as parents have put forth. I appreciate the positive approach you have taken and your patience and kindness has been felt here at school. I appreciate your help in giving feedback to teachers and the kind manner that it was given, knowing that this was all new to our teachers/staff. I appreciate the time that you took in working with your child and hope you were able to have some special learning moments together. I appreciate our students and the work they did to keep moving forward! They were continually learning how to learn! We have great students who know they can do hard things! I know they will never forget this year and hopefully they have learned some valuable lessons- besides those that were assigned to them by their teachers!

I can't say enough great things about our teachers/staff and the wonderful work they have done in putting together an online curriculum in such a short time. It was amazing to see our teachers work together to create At Home Learning. They have done an amazing job and have shown so much concern for students. Our teachers/staff have missed our students so much! I think we have all gained a better appreciation for school, friends, teachers, learning and students. Thank you for being the BEST families ever! I wish you the very best and hope your summer is a great one!

Registration for the 2020-2021 School Year

Parents, this summer our school district is changing the student information system (SIS) to a new system called I-Campus. You will be receiving an email from Nebo School District explaining what you will need to do to update your information as the system is put into place. This will affect registration and will be different from what we have done in the past.

FOR CURRENT BROCKBANK FAMILIES:

*Personal information for all current Brockbank students that will be attending Brockbank in the Fall of 2020 will need to be checked and updated. This is called an Annual Update. You will not need to "register" your child if he/she has attended Brockbank You will basically just need to update all information and make sure it is current.

*The Annual Update will open July 6th.

KINDERGARTEN STUDENTS:

*If you have a child that will be in kindergarten in the Fall of 2020 and you have children that have attended Brockbank and are going to attend Brockbank in the Fall of 2020, you will just need to "add a new student" to the Annual Update for your kindergarten student. There you will be able to add your kindergarten child's information and he/she will be in the system.

*If you have a kindergarten child new to Brockbank (ex-the oldest child or you have just moved here) you will REGISTER your kindergartner as a new student. Your information will then be processed through the district, then sent to Brockbank.

FOR NEW FAMILIES TO BROCKBANK:

*If you are new to Brockbank, but not new to our district, you will need to update your information and that should trigger the system to put you into Brockbank's boundaries.

*If you are new to Brockbank and our district, you will REGISTER online and your information will then be processed through the district, then sent to Brockbank.

DOCUMENTATION:

*If your child currently attends Brockbank, your documentation is fine. You do not need to upload your information.

*If you are new to Brockbank (ALL new kindergarten students and new families to Nebo School District) all documentation will need to be uploaded to the new system. Parents do not need to bring in documentation to the school. Parents will be able to take pictures or scan proof of residency, birth certificates, and immunization records and upload it in the I-Campus system.

We will still have a "Registration Day" and we will let you know when that will be. Although everything is done online, we want to be here to assist you if you need help. More information will come about that date.

May is Resiliency Month!

Governor Gary Herbert has declared May to be Resiliency Month! We will be sending you some information from the Governor for you to discuss with your families about resiliency. As a school, we focused on resiliency during this school year. Also, our POWER WITHIN week was to help students understand resiliency during challenging situations. We have a public service message, "Wash My Hands Challenge" from the Governor, then I'm including a little video that we watched as a school about resiliency. I hope you will take some time and go over these important messages with your child!

The Yucky Bug

This story is a great resource for you to share with your child. It is a story about what is going on in our world, told from a child's perspective. It talks about Covid 19 in children's terms and may be easy for your child to understand. Please preview it, then watch it with your child if you think it will be helpful! There are also some great resources at the end of the story.
