At Home Learning

· *Begins Wednesday, March 18th.

· *Teachers will send you information as to how and what your child will be doing.

· *Attendance (yes, attendance) is very important and we will be counting your child as “at school” from online activities that your child completes.

· *Minimal and Meaningful work will be given to students. For the first few days your child may be practicing logging in or out of a program. Your child may practice former concepts to help him/her adjust to online learning. As time goes on, his/her instruction will become a bit more rigorous.

· *Student Learning Packets-For those who do not have internet or if teachers are having students do paper packets, we will have learning packets for students. Those can be picked up by parents in the lunchroom, Wednesday, March 18th from 7:30-1:00. There will be enough work for your child for Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Parents can return the packets Monday, March 23rd, from 7:30-1:00, and will be able to pick up new packets for the week of March 23-27. Because of the new guidelines asking us to limit gatherings to 10 or fewer people, we would ask that parents come to get the packets using the main entrance to the school where they will be sent to the lunchroom according to the number of parents/staff in the lunchroom.

· *Pencils and crayons will be provided upon request at the office.

Device Checkout

· *Parents are invited to come and check out a chrome book for their child. Parents can come and check out chrome books from the office, Tuesday, March 17th from 7:30-1:00, and on Wednesday, March 18th rom 7:30-1:00. Because of the new guidelines asking us to limit gatherings to 10 or fewer people, we would ask that parents that want to check out chrome books come to the front door of the school where they will be sent to the office according to the number of parents/staff in the office. You may need to wait in line, but we hope that what we have will be quick and efficient.

School Meals

· Call the school between 8:00-9:00 am to report the number of lunches you need for your children.

· Please note that if you have children that attend secondary schools they may also get a breakfast/lunch from Brockbank.

· The breakfast/lunch menus are on the Brockbank Website.

· Breakfast is served from 8:00-9:00 and lunch is served from 11:00-12:00. Students are allowed to come and get their lunches.

Daily Schedule

You may want to think about a schedule for your child as we begin our At Home Learning. This will help your child continue a formal schedule as if he/she were in school. It will also help organize time for devices and internet use if you have multiple children. An example might be:

9:00-10:00-morning walk or exercise

10:00-11:00- At Home Learning

11:00-12:00-Creative time (specialty activities located on the Brockbank Web page from our specialty teachers).

12:00-12:30-lunch

12:30-1:00-chore time! Helping around the house!

1:00-2:30-Quiet time-reading, puzzles, etc.

2:30-4:00-At Home Learning

4:00-5:00-Fresh Air time-get out and breathe in some fresh air!

Of course, these are just ideas to help out at home!
