Hello, Brockank Families!

WECOME BACK KINDERGARTEN STUDENTS!

We were so excited to have our new, little kindergarten students come to school! Mrs. Farr and Mrs. Smartt had a great first day and love their new little ones! It is fun to watch our kindergarten students learn new things and walk so quietly and carefully down the hallways! They are a great addition to our Brockbank Family!

School T-Shirts

Just a reminder that if you would like to order a school T-shirt, the orders are due tomorrow, Tuesday, August 27th. The shirts are $8.00 and hoodies are $15.00. Thanks to Amy Engle for taking care of this for us!

Brockank Dress Code-PLEASE HELP YOUR CHILD

Please help your child choose proper dress attire for the new year. Please remember that shirts, blouses, and dresses worn need to cover shoulders- no tank tops. Also, shorts need to be longer than fingertips, when arms are placed to the side of the body. PLEASE help your child check his/her clothing before he/she comes to school. Thank you!

REFLECTIONS-2019-2020

I hope you are getting your projects ready for our Reflections Contest! The theme for the 2019-2020 school year is LOOK WITHIN! The projects are due October 2nd. We are excited to see all of the creativity that our students have!

Reflections is an art program to celebrate the creativity of students. If you have any questions please email Cindy Shepherd at eggmomma [at] gmail.com (eggmomma[at]gmail[dot]com), or look online at www.utahpta.org/reflections.

Early Morning Drop-Off

Parents, I just want to let you know our procedures for students before school begins. Our doors will always be open at 8:00 am or before. Children will wait in the lunchroom where they may read, draw, visit quietly, or do homework. Those students that are eating breakfast will be able to eat at around 8:15. At 8:25 we will announce that students may go to either their classroom, outside, or the gym if the weather is bad. Our first bell will ring at 8:40 and then the students will head to their classrooms!

Safety

Parents, please follow our school rules that we expect our students to follow! Please be an example! Here are some reminders:

*If you are picking up your child, you will need to park on 300 West. If you park on the east side, YOU WILL NEED TO HAVE YOUR CHILD CROSS AT THE INTERSECTION WITH THE CROSSING GUARD.

*If you want to park in the parking lot, you will need to park your car, then walk in and get your child.

*If you are coming into the school to get your students, please wait in the front entrance until the bell has rung.

We want to keep our students safe, and even though you may be with them, we need you to follow the rules as well.

FREE PARENT EDUCATION NIGHT

There will be a Parent Education Night with Dr. Hendershott, co-founder of Hope 4 The Wounded, on September 16, at 7:00, at SHHS. Dr. Hendershott is well-known for his work with the effects of trauma on learning and behavior. See the attachment for more information.

School Community Council

Parents, we are looking for parents that would like to serve on our School Community Council. We meet once a month and make important decisions about our school! We discuss the greatest needs of our school, how to effectively use our budget, and analyze our data about our school. We would love to have you involved. If you are interested, please come in and fill out the application for election.

Box Tops

Please also remember to keep collecting Box Tops! Students can bring in their Box Tops and give them to their classroom teachers!
