Hello, Brockbank Families!

WE ARE LUCKY TO HAVE OUR STUDENTS Week! we are so excited to celebrate our students, here at Brockbank! We LOVE our students and appreciate the great things they do! I love to see our students come to school each day and to see them work so hard! It has been such a joy to work with these students and to see them grow and progress! I'm proud of them and of the kindness they show, the hard work they do, and their example of perseverance! Thank you, Brockbank Families for all the support you give to our school and for sharing your wonderful children with us!

Thanks to our awesome PTA for all they are doing this week to celebrate our great students!

Monday-This morning we had a wonderful pancake breakfast, sponsored by our PTA and our school district. Just an FYI, because the district helped with this breakfast they needed the students to punch in their lunch numbers, but immediately reimbursed the students' accounts for breakfast. If you have any questions about this, please contact the office. It was a FREE breakfast for all students!

Tuesday: "We're no AIRHEADS! We Always Try Our Best at Brockbank!"

Wednesday: Brockbank ROCKS, So Wear Your Lucky Socks! Students are invited to wear fun, lucky socks to school!

Thursday: We Think You are Sharp! Students will receive a pencil from the PTA. There is no dress up this day.

Friday: "HATS' Off to You! It's a real "TREAT" to have you in our lives! Students may wear their favorite hat to school.

We also want to thank you for coming to our SEP Conferences! We had such great support and we appreciate you coming in to visit about your child!

Wounded Warrior Fundraiser

Today, our Kid Power Committee, along with Mrs. Jensen, was able to present a check to Stephen Lowe, a Vietnam Veteran, for $977.47, for the Wounded Warrior Program. The 5th Grade did a spectacular job singing a medley of the Armed Forces songs to begin our assembly. Then, we were able to have some fun with a pie eating contest! The grade levels that met the goal were able to send a teacher to eat his/her way through a delicious, but messy pie! Our teachers included Mrs. Noorda, Mrs. Loreen, Mr. Vernon, Mr. Loreen, Miss Clark and Mrs. Nelson. Mr. Vernon won the contest! Thanks to our Kid Power Committee for their wonderful work!

Unplug and Connect-How Electronics Impact the Human Brain

Parents, I want to let you know about a special presentation by Dr. Christy Kane, that will be held several times, throughout our district. Dr. Kane has done research on the neurological changes that take place in the developing brain due to the impact of electronics. I have heard Dr. Kane speak a couple of times and she is awesome! Her research is amazing and there is definitely information parents should be aware of. If you have time to go to one of these sessions, it will be well worth your time.
